Wait! Have I played ten games this year? I now I've bought probably 20. Just picked up a Switch and Zelda yesterday. Time to start crammin'! Good thing I'm layed up with a bum foot for a few weeks.

That moment you realize you are cheap when all your favorite games are from 2016 because you wait for Steam or GOG sales.

We don't have separate wiki pages for DLCs or expansions, but if you just vote for XCOM 2 we'll assume you mean the expansion!

Just compiled my list and it was surprising to realise that I've only actually finished 2 games this year. I can easily name 10 amazing games that came out this year and I bought them, but never actually played them for any length of time. Maybe it's an age thing but my gaming time seems to be getting lower and lower every year.

The only 2017 game I played this year was Pyre.

I really love it, so I gladly gave it all my top 10 spots.

PS. I played a little Full Throttle Remastered, too, which was nice. But Pyre though.

I finished more games than I usually, for once. Horizon, Zelda, AC: Origins, and Wolf are all in the completed column, which is honestly a bunch for me!

Spots 3-6 are still in flux on my list but I'm still gonna lock it in for fear of forgetting and missing the deadline entirely.

What really matters is that a) I actually played enough games this year for a list (eleven) and b) six of those were honestly amazing.

A couple games on Switch that I hadn't played before are what I had in mind. Stardew Valley, the Azure Striker Gunvolt pack, etc.

@wikitoups: @spindini: I believe some games show up in search with whatever release date they originally had, even if it was a mistake and later updated. We'll count both of those if you add them!

Mario Kart 8 and Superhot VR are both on my lists, the first because it's the Deluxe re-release and the second because Superhot PSVR came out this year. Is that okay?

Yet another year goes by and I have a hard time deciding what to put on my list because I tend to buy games a year or so later, with exception to a few that I really want. It's why Titan Quest: Ragnarok ended up on my list. Didn't have much else to replace it.

Done and done. What a year. I especially love how I started it with Resi 7 and am ending it with Resi 7 dlc. Proper.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is not in the system as a distinct game?

Had to bump Breath of the Wild out of the ten spot to give some love to Gang Beasts. I know nobody else will. ;-;

I compiled my list, had to leave a few big ones off of it since they came out in December of last year (even then I’m not sure Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic would count as a new game). I filled the first 6 on my list pretty easily and then had to search my memory for the last four since about half of the games I played this year were ones that came out previous years that I got on sale, such as Dishonored 2 and 2014’s GOTY Shadow of Mordor. I eventually filled out my list with mobile games that I really enjoyed, like Gorogoa and Ticket to Earth.

Don't forget RE 7 came out this year. For some reason the drop down on the site lists it as a 2016 game.

I really doubt that is something we could work out at this point, unfortunately! You may want to make a list in your profile if you want to keep that info going forward.
