Here Are StarCraft II's Current Tech Trees

Wondering about the fastest way to zerg rush in the new StarCraft sequel? This will give you an early start.

There's nothing more important to success in a real-time strategy game than understanding exactly how the tech trees are built, so you can figure out when and how to make which unit. Since you can't get started learning too early, Blizzard has provided the current tech trees for all three factions in StarCraft II

Grab the full high-res versions over in the StarCraft II image gallery, and keep in mind these are subject to change during the beta.

Brad hits 100 posts, do you sleep?

However that means nothing to me without any idea of what each does.

Just like with WarCraft III, these will probably change slightly before the final release.

I never got far in the original because I felt like modern warfare should be a bit more structured without my needing to micromanage everything.  But I really admired their design sense, and I had a special affinity for the Protoss, as long as I didn't think too much how Eldar-y they were.

I also like that the humans are, in some ways, not your stereotypical humans, with their mobile bases.  The Protoss are still sorta the guys I think are the coolest, just from an aesthetic sense.  Looking forward to detailed info pages on all of the units!

Where are the rest of the units?  Like Firebat, Goliath, Reaver, Dark Archon, etc.?  Do they not make the cut anymore?

i like rts games, looking forward to SC2's custom maps made by community
but real games are fun too, but i play them like an old granny, i wish they wouldn't have confusing units

what i really wish for is  that they configure the buttons to map the keyboard from Q to T, A to G, Z to B

You will still get to use some of them in the single player missions.  But for multi they took a lot of them out.

Also just wanted to point out how different each races tech tree is from each other,  each Zerg unit needs a soul structure to produce them.  (this means they can pump out a lot of  different  units at the same time)  The Terrens on the other hand have 3/4 their units coming out of 2 buildings.  (making them slower to build up a force)  The Protoss are by far the most stream lined with the lest amount of tech.  (kind of funny cause they are the most tech driven race)

If I am not mistaken, that is not one but THREE tech trees! And tech trees they certainly are.

But they only have 1 teir 2 unit while Zerg have 5.  Its all good.  The Protoss are just stronger at the long term game, Zerg for short and Terrens mid.

Actually, I just noticed that one new Protoss Unit is missing from this Tech Tree... the Nullifier.

The Nullifier is mostly good for dealing with Zerglings early on, in Tier 1.

I wonder if these Tech Trees were made before the Nullifier was finalized, which was just recently, or if Blizzard has dropped the Unit from the game already?

The Disruptor and the Nullifier are the same unit they just changed the name recently.  Not sure if they got rid of the force field.

*sigh*
How can they mess protoss tech tree so badly. Everything requires that friggin stargate now? Or then there's a flaw in that picture and it should be like this:

twilight council -> templar buildings
stargate -> fleet
robo fac -> robo bay

Would make more sense to me.

And the usablity of these pics... seriously. Why do they have to use 3 different kinds of arrows. Look at the zerg tree f.e. Spawning pool enables 4 new buildings but the picture uses 3 different ways to show this. Why cant they just place the 4 new buildings the pool enables under it at the same level like in most cases in the pictures.
