Sega Announces Dreamcast Collection For 360 And PC

The rumored “Dreamcast Collection” that appeared on GameStop in late 2010 is a real thing, and it’s hitting next month, Feb. 22 for the Xbox 360 on a disc and the PC as a digital download. Sounds exciting, but you should probably go ahead and lower your expectations. It's cool, I'll wait.

OK, so this collection contains four visually enhanced DC games, all of which have already hitXbox Live Arcade and PSN, or are slated to in the future. That’s right--Sega Bass Fishing, Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi, and Space Channel 5 Part 2 are all shipping in this collection, which I’d imagine is really targeted to the massive crowd of Xbox 360 owners who don’t bother with connecting their consoles to the Internet, and the PC people who can't get these titles easily the legit way.

This just reminds me of the fact that I'll never be able to do a Sonic Adventure blog, at least on this computer. I should really upgrade in the future.

It's like watching the Dreamcast die all over again.

I'm kind of bummed that SEGA didn't include Shenmue I & II into this collection. That's definitely a missed opportunity.

But will it be available on the three DreamCasts that I own and are sitting upstairs with my other archived consoles? :P

No Power Stone games? Seaman? Jet Set Radio? Shenmue? Come on, this is just lazy.

If they had the Shenmue without the "hey mister wanna wrestle" bad English dub and Jet Grind Radio with better analog controls THEN you'd be talking.

I'm sorry but this is pretty pathetic. Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5? Where the Fuck is Jet Set Radio? Sonic Adventure 2? Chu Chu Rocket? Crazy Taxi 2? Find a way to get Power Stone 1 & 2 in there. Shenmue.

After a quick conversation with my friend we concluded that PSO was not feasible, but dammit that does not mean that it will not be missed!
 
So many games that could have been used, yet they pick this crap. 2 (terrible) games are already on xblm, fishing looks boring as hell and I was never a Space Channel Guy.
 
Thing is if this sells badly (which im guessing it will) I doubt they will bother trying to make any more...

I want a collection that has both Shenmue 1 & 2 on it.

No Shenmue, no Shenmue II, no JSR, no JSRF, no Power Stone (Capcom, but whatever) no sale.

Less of a "collection" and more of "here's a few games that were on the Dreamcast".  Then again, "collection" is easier to fit on a box than what I said.

Guys, they're obviously saving all the good Dreamcast games for Game Room.

Hooooly shit, Sega continues to be just about the worst developer/publisher in the world today (and many yesterdays). 
 
Edit: Also, I'm willing to say their version of enhanced is just more of the Sonic Adventure XBLA port.  Add blue bars to the sides, make you pay five more dollars for the marginally improved graphics and true widescreen that debuted on the Gamecube a generation ago.

Man, too bad they didn't release it on 1/11/11 eh?
