Watch Dogs, The Crew Delayed Until 2014

Huh. That was sort of like... The one noteworthy next gen game out at launch of both platforms. Guess now it's Knack and Dead Rising 3? Maybe those two will be surprisingly good, I dunno. At the very least they'll look very nice.

Of course! Now without this title available at launch, I almost have enough to make up for that hundred dollar price difference!

Would rather play a good game in spring than a buggy, unpolished product in november. Plenty of other games to play.

Gives me more breathing room till I get a console. Too early yet to improve my PC, so it will be a console. I was thinking the PS 4. The one negative thing about this is that ppl. like me will at least look at what X-box is offering, though I am not in any hurry.

Wow. This could be a disaster move for the Watchdogs franchise. I know I was going to include Watch Dogs in my day 1 buys for PS4. Now it could compete with inFamous, which I'm definitely getting over Watch Dogs.

Wellllllll I dunno, I guess I'll just stick with the One pre-order and get DR 3, Forza and maybe something else... or.. I don't know man.

WTF!? I just reserved the game for PS4 THIS weekend. So, I guess we're doing that whole, delay a much anticipated game until spring the following year routine again? Pretty bummed about this.

This sucks so bad especially if your a PC gamer and you been waiting for GTA5 to come out watchdogs was that fix to fill the open world game.There's AC4 but I rather play watchdogs instead first.It's really a perfect chance for Rockstar to release gta5 this fall for PC god damn waiting is driving me crazy need to play some new good games.It's going to be a long painful shit winter if all the good games come out in the spring.

I saw this game at an event and it was basically on fire. The pre-planned demo barely worked and everyone looked panicked. So i am not surprised this has been delayed. Its a some what ambitious game and needs way more time.

Well, I just cancelled my ps4 preorder. No reason for me to rush to buy something with no games I'm crazy about.

That sucks to here both being pushed back. What about The Division? Maybe it is an engine problem if it affects two games. There isn't anything I'm looking forward to now. Might have to push back my purchase.

I'm all for delaying a game if they think it needs it. I wish they'd delayed AC3 instead of putting it out in the state it came in, and if they're willing to release a game that janky imagine how bad Watch Dogs must look right now. Although I wonder if this even has anything to do with development. This is the same company that delayed Rayman just to save money on marketing. Maybe they realized there wasn't enough time after GTA to make people want another big open world game. Maybe they wanted to get out of the way of Assassins Creed as Patrick suggested. It did seem strange to have two big releases from the same company so close to one another.

Regardless of the reasoning it's unacceptable to wait until this late to tell the consumer the game isn't coming out yet. Don't big games go gold about a month before they come out? Did they wait until literally the last day before that to make this decision? The whole console launch makes this even worse. I'm sure there were people going out and getting those things to play Watch Dogs on.

I think the interesting part is how 11th hour this is. It is expected to be on the PS4 in 28 DAYS. The game had to be going gold within days if not hours.

I think with AC IV hitting right before combined with open world fatigue this is a smart move. Though I will throw in my hat as this was my most anticipated launch game.

I am really surprised. Ubi really needs to get their shit together in terms of announcing release dates. If you're gonna push back the release of a game, fine, it happens all the time. Just don't warn people at the last second ! Damn !

On the bright side, I don't have the finances to buy a PS4 at the end of the year so I had planned to get one next year. This announcement makes the wait more bearable.

Oh son of a bitch and I just finished paying that preorder off, the next gen lineup is looking less exciting as that was a game I was most looking forward to.

Noooooooo! Damn. This sucks. This close too! That was THE game I was most looking forward to for my Xbox One. Well, GTAV delayed about 6 months and I'm sure it was better for it. Hopefully this is actually what Ubisoft is after. A better product. Though I don't trust them nearly as much as I trust Rockstar.

Oh well. I'll have other next gen games to play. Plus GTA Online is hella fun!

Delaying your game exactly one month before launch is pretty crazy. If they were delayed to December or January I would maybe think they failed certification but delaying by 5-8 months is obviously something bigger.

I'm sure the game will benefit but it definitely takes some wind out of the next-gen sails. AC4 is looking solid (or at least more solid than AC3) and Ubisoft has a bad habit of cannibalizing its own sales, I mean they would have been launching their two next-gen versions of their open-world games on the same days.

Well that's disappointing news, I was looking forward to pick it or Black Flag up assuming they had varied gameplay.

While it sucks, that game got delayed presumably because of how well AC4 is tracking, hopefully they extra time is well spent optimizing the game (60fps and/or 1080p would be nice), polishing it, and making sure the gameplay is FUN.

Hopefully, this means the game is closer in quality to AC2 than AC1, in realizing core concept fully, though I really doubt such deep elements of the game could be more than tweaked still being so close to release.

That's nuts, I doubt Sony is happy, they've just started offering PS4 bundles - one with Killzone and another with Watch Dogs, each printed on the box.

Amazon must have sent me half a dozen apologetic e-mails relating to these new consoles, yet another is incoming, and they haven't done anything wrong. That said, I don't blame Ubisoft for delaying Watch Dogs; I'm all for delays - it makes for better games, who wants a game with X months less work on it. They should have let everyone know sooner however - but I suppose the profitability of being a launch title was too enticing.

Looks like I'm going to playing a LOT of Resogun.

Waiting some time to jump in the next gen starts making more and more sense now.

Patrick is probably right about Assassin's Creed IV. There are a ton of people who would skip the tired old franchise in favor of the fresh-looking Watch Dogs. Since WD probably needs more work/polish anyway, it makes sense to delay.

The timing of this decision is ridiculously 11th hour though.

I'm ok with them taking more time to get it right but this was one.of the main reaosns I wanted to get into new hardware day one. Well if I get my console and there is nothing I'm strongly compelled to play day one it's probably gonna go on eBay to someone that actually wants it...

That's crazy. Normally they reserve huge delays like this to just the PC versions of their games but to do across the board. Wow. I always wonder when the game finally comes out how different the final product really is from what we would have gotten now.

Does that mean it won't be out for current gen consoles either?

That was the last game I was excited for this year, all I have now is Rocksmith next week.

I was going to buy an XBONE pretty close to launch pretty much for Watch Dogs but probably not now.

I think Ubi should shove more trailers down my throat and then I might actually care.

So, I guess my next-gen launch list is down to a single game: Killzone: Shadow Fall. Huh. Fancy that.
