Here's hoping this game doesn't have the entire top half of the screen whited out like Brotherhood.

@SSully said:Milking a franchise has nothing to do with the quality of the games that are produced, it is the principal of making basically the same game year after year with minor changes. Brotherhood did get a big addition of multiplayer, which is a great step, but it is obvious this franchise is going the same route as COD. The games might be good, but that doesn't mean I want to play a new one every single year. While the idea of yearly sequels may suck, I don't see how it is milking (as in negative) when Brotherhood was an outstanding game. Yearly sequels suck when its consequence is the production of bad games. So far, that hasn't happened to this franchise. Perhaps it will with this new game, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.
@Lomous said:Agreed. I passed on brotherhood becuase I had enough assassins creed for one year. Such a shame they are milking a pretty good franchise
yearly sequels suck...
@RVonE said:I would have to disagree here. If a game innovates with every single title then I don't think it is milking. If a franchise only had a title released every three years but it was always the same, then that would be milking. So far, AC has had significant improvements with every title, so thus far I don't think the main franchise has been milked. Whether you want to play one every year or not is a personal choice, and whether the franchise goes down a bad path has yet to be seen.@SSully said:Milking a franchise has nothing to do with the quality of the games that are produced, it is the principal of making basically the same game year after year with minor changes. Here's hoping this game doesn't have the entire top half of the screen whited out like Brotherhood. Was thinking the same thing.
Every sequel they've put out so far has had enough feature additions or refinements of exisiting ones to be well worth my money, regardless of the turnaround time. They change about as much as your average blockbuster sequel, the only difference being that the team is big enough to do it quickly.
I guess a good amount of people just don't like yearly releases solely because of their frequency, and not necessarily due to lack of change. I have a feeling if they released these same games every two or three years people would be much less critical about iteration.
Looking forward to this then, hope the videos aren't just for the trailer cause having that kind of video during the game would be awesome
It's a-me, Ezio! I'll play it. I'll probably even love it, but I'm ready for someone other than Ezio, even with Altair flashbacks.QFT. I've had my fill of Ezio and Altair, I've been ready for new characters since Brotherhood truthfully. Also, I'd like to say that I'm really disappointed this wasn't the usual badass assassination trailer that they usually debut with. I know it says 'full trailer coming June 6th', but still.
Why do trailers for trailers exist? I mean seriously, whoever thought it would be a good idea to tease something that's just gonna tease some more should be added to the government's de-population list.
In fact, the more that I think about it, waiting sucks all around. Waiting in line for the roller coaster isn't fun. Waiting two or three years for the next Batman movie isn't fun. I'm not complaining if publishers can push good games at me faster.
Sequels once a year aren't what's bad, it's when the sequels don't innovate on the previous installment-that's when the series becomes stale and boring.

They are totally milking AC, and I'm okay with that for a couple of reasons:
- It's a business, they have to make money
- I think each AC game has been significantly better than the last
- It means I get a new installment faster
@Brendan: Every call of duty game has had innovations in both single player and multiplayer since cod 4, yet it is almost synonymous with the term milking. Assassins Creed is starting to do the same thing. Expect a few small features for both single player and multiplayer in Revelations, nothing more. I don't get why call of duty gets bashed for being milked year and year, yet I am getting replies left and right from people claiming Assassins Creed is an exception to this title.
@MariachiMacabre: I believe it. I think the multiplayer looks outstanding, the whole cat and mouse dynamic seems to be a huge thrill. Maybe I am just in the minority where when Brotherhood was announced I just felt burnt out. I loved both the first and second AC games, but I couldn't pull myself to pick up brotherhood so soon.
@Alphazero said:I agree with both of these. Brotherhood was all the Ezio I needed, or even wanted. It's a-me, Ezio! I'll play it. just make it coop already... you've proven you can do competitive multiplayer, you can do some kind of coop
All will be revealed? .................I'm holding back laughter at that line. YEAH RIGHT!!!
That was my reaction aswell to that line. Supposedly Ubisoft has said this will have more answers than questions compared to the previous games but well see. I don't expect EVERYTHING to be revealed but it will atleast fill in the gaps of what happened to Altair after AC1.
I got rid of my main console and my PS3 is just a Blu-ray player for my house hold, god I hope this is also coming to the PC.
