    An artist and graphic designer who co-founded the company Ancient along with her brother, famed composer Yuzo Koshiro. She was the chief graphic designer for Streets of Rage 2 and contributed to a number of other franchises, including Ys, ActRaiser, and Lunar among others.

    Overview

    Ayano Koshiro (古代彩乃) is a graphic artist that is most famous for her work in the 1980s and 90s. She began her career when she was only in her late teens as a part-time employee at Nihon Falcom where she famously designed the monsters for the original Ys, even designing the final boss Dark Fact. In 1988 she left Nihon Falcom along with her brother, Yuzo Koshiro, who also worked at Falcom at the time. Eventually both her and Yuzo founded their own studio called Ancient in 1990 where they developed games like Beyond Oasis. Afterwards she helped create the graphics for a variety of titles including being the art director for Streets of Rage 2, creating graphics for Lunar: The Silver Star and working on several titles for Quintet. Today she still operates Ancient with her brother and creates illustrations for some of their original titles, such as 2010's Protect Me Knight.
