    Batman: AA Review

As a fellow Batman fan I was particularly excited for the release of this game. After playing the demo I was lessened in hope, I finally got my hands on it… I was blown away and by blown away I mean, well… you'll have to read my review.

All my ratings are x/5.0  (This was taken from my original review and some changes were made.)

    Graphics //3.0//

The graphics were fairly good but felt unrealistic, a little solid, somewhat gritty and dirty. I found several graphical glitches towards the end of the game. Overall decent.

    Gameplay //3.5//

The overall gameplay and experience through the game was not good at all. (Most of my gameplay complaints are in the combat area below). The controls may seem to become frustrating button mashing of square and constant stroking of left thumb stick in random directions. Detective mode was garbage considering it did everything for you and you just follow clues laying in the middle of the floor. (wanna be detective game)

    Combat/boss fights/battle strategy //2.5//

As I mentioned above most of my complaints are in this section. Running through unrealistic air vents from area to area in which your enemy never suspected, becomes extremely annoying. As soon as you enter an area meant specifically (yes specifically) for stealth combat you will find yourself instantly flying stealthily (major sarcasm) across the field on black dental floss onto a gargoyle that was set "specifically" for batman to remain somehow stealthy on. (wtf? "no he's not up there" of course not). Boss battles were way to easy, just rolling in right or left directions and button mashing L1 at the boss.

    Story //3.5//

I personally think the story was a small-brained and ridiculous attempt at getting all of Batman's greatest and darkest enemies all together for Batman to tell them "go back to your cell" (wow…) and then later on go in an unexpected (:o not…) boss fight. Some of the things that happen in the story are not possible in a "real-time" situation. You will slowly realize the entire Asylum was made just for batman to navigate very easily through.

Total Score (average):  3.1 rounded to create 3.0/5 stars.

Additional Comments (does not effect score)

Fair game, truly best batman game I have played (there's like 2) but this game has many problems. (mostly unfix-able through update). This is not a joke review this what I feel the overall game struck me as and there are much better superhero games out there with a lot more replay value then this lousy constructed game.

Overall I would like to see a lot better game to promote my favorite hero Batman.

Hope this review helped you decide not against but to not waste money buying toward this Batman rip-off title. Rent it.

Holy 5 star review Batman! 0

Batman, Batman, Batman! Where to begin with Batman: Arkham Asylum. First off this game is well worth the price of admission. From the opening interactive cinematic that has you as Batman ecsorting the Joker back into the bowels of the namesake asylum, to the final ( & somewhat) anti-climatic batlle with ol' Ruby Lips himself, this is a ride worth taking. Not since MGS4 has a game pulled you into it's storyline with great voice acting & dialogue that is this crisp, engaging, & in the ...

The game Gotham needs, or the game Gotham deserves? 0

I always envisioned that the ideal Batman game would be encapsulated in a sandbox. Imagine it now; patrolling the streets of in the Batmobile, beating up thugs and keeping the citizens safe from crime and itself. Unfortunately, recent sandbox games, both with real superheroes (Spiderman: Web of Shadows, Superman Returns) and imitation heroes (Infamous, Prototype) have taught me better. All of those games featured redundant gameplay mechanics realized the notion that the life of a superhero is...
