Who doesn't LOVE cake? Well besides Coonce but he's awesome.

I will have to go with cake, especially chocolate cake.

I would have to choose cake.  Both (if properly done) are totally amazing when consumed, but the crust of a pie is just too hard to nail when building pies.

Pie by a large margin.  Cake is too sweet and filling.  I feel like I can barely eat a bite of cake most of the time.  Pie has so much more variety.  And if you really want ridiculously sweet pies, those exist too.
