Eh. The story's not great, and while the Ghosts are somewhat cool, the majority of characters are pretty bland. There's some instances where there's bad voice acting, and bad dialogue, but overall, I enjoyed the experience of Call of Duty Ghosts; enough so that I went through it again on Veteran, and had fun with it again. I probably wouldn't have gotten the game on last-gen, but getting a 30 dollar gift card for the game, with the PS4, I got it and I think it was worth it.
Yeah, I like the game, but I would like more longevity to it; a better story and more time to develop characters. The ridiculous stuff I thought were awesome, but goofy at the same time. The first time I went through the game, I didn't know Riley attacked the heli, and when I noticed he did my second time through, that was funny. As little time as you get with Riley, I liked the dog more than I was expecting.
I had a real problem with another game, somewhat similar to it, which is Battlefield 4's campaign. I don't remember the last time I disliked a campaign of its sort as much as I do BF4. At first, it was OK, but then as I progressed, it was just frustratingly bad and the only reason I wanted to get through it was because I had already gone through Ghosts, and I wanted to compare them. The difference is that the BF4's multiplayer, while not necessarily working well, is funner than Ghosts.
Ghosts is just kind of bad, and I had funner just getting everything from the get-go by playing against bots, where I can customize the match, and online also doesn't work well, since guys are randomly jumping around on the screen so you can't get a good shot on anyone. I don't know what's up with them. The thing about Call of Duty, that makes me not mind it, is that it's not really meant to be seen as realistic, so those crazy moments can be seen differently, as opposed to Battlefield 4, in which I felt the developers didn't know what they wanted it to be identified as, as well as some just awkward moments that don't make sense in terms of human realism, and in a game like it, if you even question it, that's not a good sign.
To me, any criticism you can have towards Ghosts' campaign, you can look at Battlefield 4 for even worse, and then some. Call of Duty isn't meant to be a comedy, but I also don't feel like it's supposed to be this realistic thing you experience, so for me, it gets away with... Basically all of the unrealistic aspects, and there's a lot. What did it for me, is that the shooting feels good, and I liked the locations you go to which are set up nicely; good variety I think. You just do some cool stuff.
