Been there done that! Bring something new to the table!

Personal Thoughts: when I got it I expected the multiplayer and story to be as exciting as Call of Duty 4.  The majority of the story was not as intense as COD4, but the ending was more intense than all of COD4's story put together.  The multiplayer was a huge disappointment, it wasn't as exciting, the guns weren't as great as the modern guns, and the ranking system wasn't as addicting and exciting as COD4's.

    The Good:
    • The intensity of the end of the story was awesome
    • You got to kill Nazis
    • The guns were good
    • Dogs
    • NAZI ZOMBIES!!!
The ending of the story made you say stuff like, 'oh yea nazis! what now!' and put a smile on your face.  I loved pointing the gun at the enemy, killing them, and knowing that you just killed a nazi, awesome!  The guns were good, you had your basic variety, the rifles, sub machine guns, shotguns, and snipers, sufficient to make an entertaining shooter.  The idea to replace helicopters with dogs was a nice addition, they lasted longer, could actually hit the enemy INSIDE a building, and killed quicker.  Nazi Zombies is: entertaining,  exciting, intense, uses teamwork, and is just plain fun.  The main reason this game gets a 3.5 instead of a 2.5.
    The Bad:
    • The Majority of the story was plain
    • Guns weren't great
    • Multiplayer was nowhere near as action packed
    • Ranking system was nowhere near as addicting
Almost all of the story felt like a typical run-n-gun game.  There wasn't a level that was devoted to any certain tactic (for example sniping) and they didn't make up or bring any new tactic to a first person game.  The guns were good, but they weren't great and in the multiplayer there was no gun that made me say stuff like 'dude, i NEED that gun!'  There was something about the multiplayer that made it less action packed, personally i think that it was the fact that the maps were JUST big enough that people could always stand back and snipe the enemy, not go up and shoot them up, but that could just be the people playing.
The fact is that it's not too exciting, and it's not fantastic, it's a typical shooter.  And that used to be fine, but we're in a new day and age for video games, and any game that doesn't bring something new to the table is not fantastic, because there ARE games that bring new things to the table, and those games make people toss typical games, like this, to the side.  There ARE some good features about this game, but there are too many bad features in this game, that's what weighs it down.  3.5/5 stars, due to sheer lack of action and intensity throughout the game.

Call of Duty World at War Review 0

I love World War II. I love playing World War II videogames so naturally I've played many Call of Duty games. I played Finest Hour, Call of Duty 2, Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, Modern Warfare and of course World at War. Ever since I first watched my friend play Call of Duty 2 on a PC, and then play it on my own Xbox 360 (being the first 360 game I owned), I fell in love with the Call of Duty series. My favorite Call of Duty is Modern Warfare, but Call of Duty 2 is an very close second and I had ...

World At War is nothing particularly new, but it retains many good qualities 0

Call of Duty: World At War returns to WW2 as opposed to it's predecessor, to mostly positive results. World At War presents a darker, grittier tone than past games in the series, as well as including a theater of war never used before in a COD game, and a multiplayer mode that is more of the same, and a new Zombie survival mode.World At War kicks off the campaign with you playing as Pvt. Miller, being held captive in a Japanese camp on the island of Makin Atoll, where him and his teammates have ...
