A survival horror game for the Wii by Hudson, telling the story of a mysterious website known as "The Black Page."
An icy re-imagining of the classic Silent Hill, which trades weapons for frantic chase sequences as the player tries desperately to flee pursuing enemies. It takes on more of an adventure game format than traditional survival-horror.
Arctic-themed Cryostasis has players explore a relatively faithfully constructed Soviet-era nuclear ice-breaker. Game mechanics include using heat and exhaustion to represent player stamina, using heat sources to regain this stamina, and the use of a flashback ability to alter the past.
The first game in the Fatal Frame survival horror franchise released exclusively on a Nintendo platform, and the first to not receive an official localization. It utilizes motion control to move the flashlight. This also marks the series' switch from stationary cameras to a behind-the-back view.
An exploration based adventure by the Swedish developer Frictional Games. Black Plague focuses on where the previous game in the story ends. It requires the player to traverse an underground facility full of zombie-like creatures which they must avoid if they are to survive.
Penumbra: Overture is a 2007 first person horror/adventure game, and the first installment of the Penumbra series.
A young woman whose fiance recently died finds herself in a ghostly manor when she falls asleep, only to be stalked by a woman's tattoo-covered spirit.
When they visit a spot where they used to play as children, the twin sisters Mio and Mayu suddenly find themselves in a village where night is eternal. With only a magic camera to defend themselves, they have to solve the village's mystery while defending themselves from evil spirits.
Although not actually based on a true story, as the misleading packaging claims, Fatal Frame is still a beloved horror game in which a camera is the player's only weapon against malevolent spirits.
