Is it true you only get the armor if you join the dark moon covenant?

No, anyone can loot the black knight armor set in the kiln of the first flame.

For a second I thought this was going to be about Batman armor in the game.

I am very disappointed now.

Actually I think the dark knight armor comes pretty close to a medieval-batman.

Is it good? Cause I want one now.

I believe you can get the Dark moon armor by killing the covenant leader. You get a Darkwraith set by getting to the Darkwraith covenant level 2.
