I've played a lot of Demons Souls....like a lot of Demons Souls. And there's no way the control scheme would translate well to a PC without using a game pad. It just wouldn't happen. Keyboard inputs are so awful for a game like this, where precise character control is super important and analog sticks are vastly superior.
I fully agree with your point. However, I will admit that using spells and miracles would be much better on a keyboard then flipping through them. I can't even count the amount of times I got them confused or overshot my selection and messed up my spells.

I do have to ask though. How of Demon's SOuls have you played. I think I have slightly over 250 hours if I remember correctly.

@Iron_Tool: Your thread title made me think that for some weird reason the game had been announced for the PC and that made me very happy, so you can imagine it was a huge disappointment to read your post and find out it was not :P
But you seem to be a Tool fan, so all is forgiven ;)

On the topic, though, yeah, I really wish the game had a PC version....

The game is Japanese. As such, it will not appear on PC.

Personally I can't even begin to imagine this game controlling well on a keyboard.  It was designed from the ground up to use a gamepad.  As for the rest?  Considering that From Software has never even attempted or discussed a pc port of any game they have ever made.... I don't see it happening.  Other than graphics I don't even see this game being improved on the pc, in fact I feel safe in saying it would likely control worse.  Like I said, it was designed from the ground up for consoles.

I am so happy for you and your pc being so perfect. I wish everyones computer and internet were as awesome as yours. Internet cuts out during a game, your game freezes and either kicks you to main menu or lags for a minute to change to single player. Most games dont wait for you to fix your problem which means you will probably die.

Maybe not Dark Souls, but more and more games are coming to PC. And Japan is starting to follow the trend as well. We can only hope for more releases to also come to the PC (which they would because of the resurging digital market) .

Internet cuts out during a game, your game freezes and either kicks you to main menu or lags for a minute to change to single player. Most games dont wait for you to fix your problem which means you will probably die.

I solve that problem with these two solutions:

    1) I don't buy games that require you to be online when playing them.

    2) If I did buy games with that sort of DRM I would just use a crack to get around it. Or more likely the developers would release a patch to remove it after the inevitable shit storm from gamers.

What the fuck are you dribbling about? "Most games don't wait for you to fix your problem which means you will probably die." Uhm, OK. Firstly if you mean dying during a multiplayer game then that's irrelevant as if your Internet cut out you wouldn't be connected for somebody to kill you. The exact same would happen on console. Secondly if your Internet cut out on a game with always-online DRM you will either be forced to pause or kicked back to the main menu. Neither of these problems you've cooked up result in you being killed.

The funny thing is you are clearly grasping at straws by bringing up the always-online DRM; a system hardly any games use as it's constantly lashed back at whenever a game uses it. See the From Dust PC version drama which resulted in them removing that DRM from the game.

I don't know why I bother, you are clearly clueless and incredibly biased. I won't reply to any of your silliness further.

You'd be surprised to find that there are tons of PC games (SHMUPs, RPGs and Dating Sims) which are sold in Japan exclusively to the Japanese market. The console market, while burgeoning and definitely trendy still hasn't killed the PC market at all in Japan. Japanese devs love the PC, it's just that Sony has gone out of their way to promote exclusivity for premiere developers to only develop for the Playstations. Hell, Japan's PC gaming history even goes back to a time when they made some of their best and biggest brand products pretty much exclusively for PC (would you believe there was a Thunder Force on the IBM PC JX?) even when there were competing Japanese consoles like the Master System and NES available.

Yes. It's truer even than true religion...jeans. And much like those fancified jeans with the girlie pockets on men's pants, if the evidence isn't sufficient to convince you of the trueness (or convince you to wear men's jeans with women's pockets), you are just going to have to accept it on faith.
