A quasi-sequel to From Software's action-RPG Demon's Souls, set in a new universe while retaining most of the basic gameplay and the high level of challenge. It features a less-linear world, a new checkpoint system in the form of bonfires, and the unique Humanity system.
I think it's the best game of the last generation, for what it's worth . Best one for my tastes, anyway. One of those games that feels new but rooted in old school mechanics, so it's familiar too. It's made every other RPG of the last generation look silly to me.
So the "souls experience" is something you have the first 10-30 hours depending on your skillset from the get go.
So if you play the first Dark Souls or Demon souls before you play Dark Souls 2, you will already have the "soul experience".
To get the most out of it I would suggest waiting for Dark Souls 2, it's a Japanese game so it's more about the atmosphere and feel then story. So I don't think it matters much if you know nothing about Souls before playing the second Dark Souls.
What you need to prepare for is google a bit for answers, because uhh cultural differences but I assume DS2 will be easier to understand then the previous games.
What ever you choose, I hope you will have a lot of fun! :)
hey guys maybe the souls games aren't as perfect as you think they are
even your beloved lord and entirely unfalliable god Vinny Himself said it wasn't that great...
Anybody who says the games are perfect is ignoring a heap of issues. That doesn't stop them from being compelling and fun to play for a lot of people. For some even the issues are part of its charm.
I don't know what Vinny has to do with this at all. If he doesn't care for the games than whatever.
I would say, "Yes", but only so you kind of know what you are going into. On one hand this is extremely late in the game to get into Dark Souls. While completely doable I will say that its much harder to do many things as most of the people who will invade you are complete trolls. If you play on PC then most of the people invading you are hackers who have everything maxed and are wearing the best armor. That being sad, you can play most of Dark Souls without ever getting into co-op or PVP, so I would say you should play to see if you like it at all. You can get the game pretty cheaply now.
