Isaac Clarke returns to control the horde of necromorphs!

Visceral Games have outdone themselves. Dead Space 2 is one of those sequels which is better than the original. Sure it uses the same the gameplay as the original but if it ain't broke, why fix it? The story takes place three years  after Isaac Clarke fled from the USG Ishumura in a desperate attempt to escape the horrors of  the necromorphs, humans horribly mutated by aliens. This time, Isaac Clarke is a mental patient aboard The Sprawl, a city on one of Saturn's moons named Titan. You are thrown right into the game, unlike the first where you slowly learned the ropes. This wasn't a problem for me as I completed the first and even have a review for that if you haven't looked yet. After he frees himself from captivity Isaac is contacted by a woman named Daina who knows a way  to get him to escape the sprawl and cure his dementia he contracted aboard the USG Ishumura. Now, onto the game itself. The HUD is the same; the health on Isaac's spine, the clip above the gun, the real time inventory and shopping etc. All there. There's new weapons but most of them aren't necessary to use through the game. Graphics are slightly improved to make the game look even better. The music is still good. The scares can be a little repetitive at times, but you still can be caught off guard sometimes. There is multiplayer, and it works really well. It is perfectly balanced with the Humans and necromorphs, and every map offers different objectives every time. A definite must-buy. Next up, Gears of War series!

You can never get away from the Sprawl 0

Despite the fact that we've already seen DC Universe Online and LittleBigPlanet 2 (an MMO and lighthearted platformer), Dead Space 2 is really 2011's first big "hardcore" game, one with the story, gameplay, graphics and production values that will appeal to a large demographic. Last year's big releases kind of bummed me out so I wasn't really anticipating this as heavily as others were but the team's solid and they got some of the best third-person controls and atmosphere going for them so natur...

The original Dead Space remains one of the biggest surprise hits of this generation, and its high quality left me eager to jump back in for more via Dead Space 2. And even though it may take a few unfortunate missteps, Dead Space 2 is still a great shooter that stands toe to toe with the best out there, making it a no-brainer for fans of the genre.First and foremost, the majority of the original’s defining features make a triumphant return in Dead Space 2. The shooting here is second to none, of...
