Hey Duders.

I wanted to mention the upcoming Distant Worlds expedition that will be taking place on the PC version of Elite Dangerous. It's a charted journey across the galaxy planned over the course of 12 weeks with several planned stops at way points along the way. The forum thread about it on the Frontier Forums goes into more depth but I just signed up for it and and was hoping to find some GB folks to maybe tag up with along the way. As I understand it the trip will involve planet landings so it is oriented towards the new Horizons update but you should still be able to participate with the base version of E:D.

This sounds amazing, it's almost making me get ED, I'd totally be in the cartographer's group.

But I guess it's a bit too close now, I'd still have to play enough to get a good ship and stuff (not to mention actually learning how to play) beforehand.

I wish I had learned about this sooner.

@onarum: I guess it's been in the works for around a month now. I only just learned of it a couple days ago though. There's always next year; this could end up being an annual thing.

@atomic_olive: I probably missed the boat on this. I'm still getting my Asp Explorer ready.

I've been putting my Viper III to work bounty hunting on Alioth's ring planets, protecting miners from pirates.

I probably could do some exploration now but I'm preparing for a long run. Which, considering this is my first outing past the human occupied bubble, probably not the best idea? We'll see.

On a separate note,I would love to see more people discussing this game. It has consumed me.

@alex_carrillo: I haven't kept up with the expedition so far but I'm planning on catching up at the next waypoint. It's still possible to make it if you feel up to it.
