Flower Review
Flower is from the people that brought you flOw, and even though I have yet to play flOw I can tell you that Flower is an experience that you won't want to miss. In Flower you will be taking on the role as the wind, utilizing the six-axis controller you will breeze around the stages collecting flower petals from different flowers.
The music and the sound alone make this one hell of a ride. The music draws you in and intangles itself with the visual experience that you receive. To be completely honest the music will evoke emotions in some because of the powerful way that it is used.
The graphics are stunning, grouped with the music it is a beautiful piece of art. Each stage has its own life, and the way that you interact with it makes it unique over the others. The effects on the grass as you fly low to the ground are very impressive, and the overall trail of petals that you will gain look stunning.
The controls as stated before utilize the six axis controller. You will be moving the controller around to steer the wind and your trail of petals, but you will also have to utilize one button of the controller to speed the wind up for those longer journeys around a level. I personally recommend the R2 button, as it didn't seem to take away from my experience and it seemed where I naturally place on of my fingers.
So the gameplay is simply this, you are the wind you pick up petals from flowers, certain flowers once the petals are taken will change the look of the world. There are hidden flowers that can give you bonuses, but its not required to beat the game. You will live out the life of each flower that you see on your desk / start menu.
This may not be the best example for the word 'game', but this is an experience that I think everyone really needs to experience. If you have a PS3 you should play around with this game, it is soothing, relaxing, and enjoyable. There are those who say that this is just a subliminal campaign for save nature, and I can see what they are talking about, but that should not detour anyone from playing this. Flower gets a 9.6 out of 10.
