    Introduction

Fort Constantine is a large military outpost and ICBM launch site in the northwest of the Capital Wasteland. It has long been abandoned by humans, but is now protected by a small army of robots. Once the player has acquired three keys in the quest "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head," they have the ability to open various doors within the fort, allowing access to the unique T-51B Power Armor.

    Location

It is located in the northwest quadrant, slightly north and in between two satellite communication arrays, SatCom Array NW-05a and SatCom Array NN-03d.

    Layout and Loot

The fort is made up of three buildings and one underground zone: Personnel Offices, CO Quarters, Launch Control Bunker and Bomb Storage. Beware of robots!

    Personnel Offices

The Personnel Offices are located in the largest building of the fort. However, they serve no function in relation to the quest "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head," and there is very little of value hidden inside. A copy of Grognak the Barbarian is the sole item of note.

    CO Quarters

The CO Quarters are found in a small building northwest of the main area. On the main floor is various loot including Guns and Bullets, two pre-war books, a 10mm pistol, and a Nuka-Cola Quantum. Taking the stairs downstairs, there are more things worth taking: the Bobblehead - Big Guns item, Chinese Army: Special Ops Training Manual, a Stealth Boy and the Fort Constantine Launch Codes.

The basement of the CO Quarters contains a locked door leading to an underground passage. This door can only be opened with one of the keys from the quest "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head." Make sure to have all of them. This door leads to the Launch Control Bunker.

    Launch Control Bunker

The Launch Control Bunker connects the basement of the CO Quarters and Bomb Storage. It is also where the player may input the Fort Constantine Launch Codes in an attempt to launch the ICBM housed in the facility. The missile is not functional, however. Notable loot includes: copies of Duck and Cover! and a Big Book of Science, a pre-war book and a Stealth Boy .

The Launch Control Bunker contains a second door which leads to Bomb Storage. It is opposite the entrance from the CO Quarters if the player proceeds linearly through the zone. The door can only be opened with another key from the related quest.

    Bomb Storage

Bomb Storage is the final zone the player must clear to obtain the T-51B Power Armor. It has three doors, two on the surface and one in the basement. The surface entrances are both locked (very hard). Even if the exterior lock is picked, access to the Power Armor is blocked by lack of a certain key. If the player has taken the appropriate steps in "You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head," the basement door is opened with a key from the quest and they may proceed to obtain the armor.

Inside Bomb Storage, there are two storage rooms locked with Very Hard locks and Very Hard terminals. Only one security system needs to be dealt with. The rewards are guns and a copy of Guns and Bullets.

Finally, direclty in front of another locked door is the corpse of a woman named Tara, referenced in the related quest. Her body contains the warhead storage key. The last key from the quest opens the final locked door to the R&D Secure Storage Room. Notable loot includes: D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine, a Fat Man and two mini-nukes, and a terminal allowing the removal of the stasis field blocking the T-51B Power Armor. The warhead storage key obtained from Tara's body allows for a quick exit back to the surface.
