Honestly, if not Deus Ex, ironically (and I say ironically, because I am not a fan of MMO's) The Division. The game to me plays really well to me, albeit not that original, and I thought the New York setting was great, with great sound design and great visuals. I also felt the story, though not amazing, was pretty good for the kind of game it was. When I played about 60 hours of it around release to get through it all solo, I thought it was a really fun experience, though the latter half of it (getting to the far right part of the map) did become a bit too repetitious with the lack of variety in side missions, and me just wanting to finish it made it a little less entertaining.
After I was done, I didn't really want to go back, and so it wasn't until I beat Deus Ex: Mankind Divided that I went back, and thought, yeah, this was a great experience, and probably the funnest I had all year. For a sequel to have me even more into it, all it'd have to do is take the always online focus out; put a little more emphasis on the story, and have much better variety in side content. I played all but Stardew Valley, X-Com 2, and have, but did not play any of Overwatch. The games disappointed me one way or another, and not only because of that, but I wouldn't want to consider any of them game of the year material.
I am definitely done with The Division now, and perhaps not the other ones, but still, it's the one I'll probably look back on with the fondest memories from this year (of the games we've played so far).
