I was checking the system requirements for Brink on PC and was surpised by two factors: first, that games are starting to ask for an i5 or better as recommended CPU, and that terrifies me, having just upgraded to a Q8400 (the best I can get in LGA 775); second, I have absolutely no interest in that game. I don't even know why I was checking the requirements in the first place.
From what I've seen of the game, it looks like a generic team-based multiplayer shooter with a bit more mobility and maneuverability than usual, but that's it. (Mind you, I'm not saying it's not good or anything, just what I've seen from the trailer). But people around the Internet sound as if it was the next big online shooter. The awesome guys at X3F are even talking about it as if it could dethrone Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as their go-to game.
Do you feel the same about any upcoming game?
Any popular upcoming game you're NOT interested in?
Most of them :(
Portal 2's been released npw and I can't think of any other upcoming game this year that I'm genuinely interested in.
Infamous 2, Brink, Gears of War 3.
generic run-around-in-circles multiplayer-based shooters: Modern Warfare 3 and Gears of War 3
" Uhh... Skyrim, Deux Ex, Child of Eden, Alice, Saints Row 3, and BioShock Infinite. "100% agree, that's really odd, ......are you me?
They're asking for i5's in the recommended specs? It's probably not a surprise, given that it's the new wave of architecture.
" @ThePhantomnaut said:Dunno dude. I am not Batman though." Uhh... Skyrim, Deux Ex, Child of Eden, Alice, Saints Row 3, and BioShock Infinite. "100% agree, that's really odd, ......are you me? "
LA Noire, Skyrim, Battlefield 3, pretty much all of them really. I'm content to sit here, play Starcraft 2, and catch up on old games I missed over the years.
Unless Brink is amazing I'm not looking forward to that. And Battlefield 3.
I would say the next Call of Duty but there hasn't been any coverage yet so I don't want to completely write it off yet.
Brink and pretty much any other shooter. I've had my fill this generation. I play very little to no shooters these days and the shooters I do play consist of pretty much just TF2 and MNC.
Skyrim, Deus Ex, Battlefield 3, Brink, "Duke Nukem Forever 'no release'"
I also don't see the fun or the AAA-"Tihing" about Brink: What 's so cool about odd looking skull-shapes? Team building gameplaymechanics are out there since Battlefield 1942.. so what? I have seen all this already..
For me it 's a Rip-Off from TF2 ...
...but that 's not the topic here ^^
Forza 4
Maybe I am just too much of a traditionalist, but after I picked up GT5, I feel like I have my go to car sim for a while.
Skyrim. Though the fact that they are saying the 3d person view will be new and improved, have thrown me into a new line of curiosity. Just couldn't be bothered with the Oblivion first person mode.
Ah and Duke Nukem Forever. Now that game I don't give a flying pooh over.. See what I did there?
Ah yes. Forgot Call of Duty. My bad.
- L.A. Noire
- Duke Nukem Forever
- Brink
- Gears 3
- and any other game where the emphasis is on competitive multiplayer
Brink.
Bioshick Infinite
At first I was dying for Gears 3 but now the excitement comes and goes with how long its taking.
I feel I will have forgotten about it by the time its done.
I think I´ll go with Brink. At first it seemed cool and all but now it just looks like a Bulletstorm with slightly different mechanics and a similar setting on top of a class based shooter. Getting kind of tired of FPS´s anyway... except Portal if that counts as a FPS...
I have a pretty narrow interest in games that haven't been released yet. I wait for the judgement of the gaming community and then, maybe, I'll try it.
The only titles I know I will buy is ME3, Diablo 3 and Skyrim.
If I had to name one game I have exactly zero interest in, and that have gotten a ton of hype the past weeks, it's Deus Ex. Strange though, on the paper it sound like my kind of game. Can't say why it haven't hooked me yet. Maybe I just hate gold, black, guard cycles and sun glasses.

I just have zero interest in the Elder Scroll series.
