Ive got some good deals on games over the last couple of years but The best couple were-
-X-men Legends 2: Rise of the Apocalypse-$2.50-it was $5 and it was Xmas so it was 50% off on top of that.
-Spiderman Web of Shadows PC-$20
What are some great game deals you've gotten
Best Game Deal you ever got.
One time when I was in Paris, this was 3-4 years ago, I was browsing in a game store, and they had a used section. And lo and behold, there I found a game I'd been looking for pretty much since I'd gotten a PS2, but never found for anything less than premium price: ICO, in its unique cardboard box, complete with all the postcards. And it was only 12 euros! The store obviously had no idea that they were sitting on something worth at least 4-5 times that much, so I snatched it up without thinking for a second. This was before the reprint, mind you, so it was pretty rare. I still have it. Ironically I ended up not enjoying ICO as much I'd hoped (I actually don't think it's that great...), but still the best deal I've ever found.
Also a few weeks back I found Conan for the 360 for a measly 5 euros. Not a great game, but a decent God of War clone, so I'm not complaining.
Edit: also yeah, I have Final Fantasy VII for the PC, in the big trapezoid box. Bought it in Edmonton, Canada one time visiting family there, this was a little bit before it became super rare, but it was after FF8 I believe. Don't remember how much I paid, but it was not a whole lot, so considering it's probably worth a fair bit more these days, I probably got lucky there. I believe that edition of the game is super rare these days. Also own FF8 PC, also with big box, which is pretty rare too but not quite as much.
"FFVII for $40. That was last October, I believe"A 10 year old PS1 game for $40 is a good deal? Ouch. I'm guessing the game must be pretty rare these days, otherwise you're nuts.
I think I might have to give this one to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. It and the original Banjo-Kazooie (which is one of my all-time favorite games) for $40. Worth every penny.
chamin1, you're making me consider Dark Sector. It's been like $10-15 new at Gamestop for months. The reviews of it weren't too amazing, but I'm sure I wouldn't be complaining regardless because of the cheap price tag.
"easily dark sector, an absolutely superb next gen game with great graphics and gameplay, plus not a bad story either, for only ten bucks."Is it really that good? Its always looked interesting, though I have always heard negative things about it. Though I guess for $10 you can't really go wrong.
Hmmm, tough call. I'd probably have to go with the original Half-Life for 99c on Steam, although I've lost count of the number of great deals I've managed to pick up over the years.
I went to Best Buy back in February with the intention of buying Fallout 3. But when I got to the shelf, the collector's edition was priced the same as the normal version. So, obviously, I bought the collector's edition. Bit of a lucky snag, eh? =P
When all the X-Com games were released on Steam, they ran a package price deal that was just amazing, something like 99 cents per game if you bought them as a whole.
Actual physical copies, I'd say the Fallout Collection, which I nabbed for about $5 on Amazon, plus a few bucks shipping and handling.
"easily dark sector, an absolutely superb next gen game with great graphics and gameplay, plus not a bad story either, for only ten bucks."Man you got ripped off.
They should be paying you to play that game.

So, obviously, I bought the collector's edition. Bit of a lucky snag, eh? =P"Last time I checked on amazon, the collector's edition was cheaper than the normal version. I don't know why I haven't bought this game. It very well might be my choice for GOTY. I've just put off getting it because I still have so many other games to finish, and by the time I do, Fallout 3 will probably be much cheaper. However, considering how much better Fallout 3 is than a lot of those games, maybe I should just pony up now.
A few years ago my friend was going to sell his PS2 slim to gamestop because he didn't use it anymore and wanted cash. I told him he would probably get like $40, so I said I'll buy it since I had an old school PS2 that sometimes didn't play the old school purple back ps2 games.
Well he gave me the PS2, Memory card, Dual Shock 2, and like 7 games. I went to gamestop, traded in the games that I didn't want to keep and made $50 (most because of some awful predator game he had that gamestop gave me $30 for, I had no idea) and bought some other games! Now thats a deal.
When the N-Gage was just beginning to show signs of failure, GameStop let me pick any three games for free if I were to purchase an N-Gage (which I was already planning to do).
FYI, I grabbed: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Red Faction, and Puyo Pop.
THPS and Puyo Pop were great! Red Faction, on the other hand, was terrible!
Just last winter, I picked up a sealed copy of Sunset Riders for the SNES for a measly $9 on ebay. I also got Mercenaries 2 for $5 through Best Buy when it was a reward zone special deal, along with my reward zone discount.
The best, however, was when I got Elite Beat Agents. I was looking through the bin of games at Sears, and noticed it seeming out of place, considering everything else was crap. I tried to scan it on the manual scanners, but no price came up. When I went to the register to see the price, it rang up at something like $1.16
I dunno why it was so cheap, it was brand new as well.
Used copy of Far Cry 2 for 29 dollars. Hated it. EB had some deal going to coincide with RE5, traded Far Cry 2 in for 35 dollars. 6 dollar profit wins/.
"Dogbert47 said:A sealed first Greatest-Hits edition of Final Fantasy VII can go up to $90-$100 these days. Black label editions usually go for $40-$60. The degree of Final Fantasy VII rarity varies in different countries. Europe is pretty flooded with platinum-versions, so these are quite cheap. But in the states, it really is an expensive rarity."FFVII for $40. That was last October, I believe"A 10 year old PS1 game for $40 is a good deal? Ouch. I'm guessing the game must be pretty rare these days, otherwise you're nuts.
I happened to have topped my previous deal a couple weeks ago,
Brand new copy of dead space = $1
Beat that!
