Best Game Deal you ever got.
"Super Mario Galaxy. Borrowed it from a friend and never gave it back. Good ass deal if you ask me."
God if you did that to me you'd be hearing about it good and proper. I guess it's his fault for not chasing it up, but I still hate people who borrow stuff and never give it back. Like my brother, he keeps borrowing stuff and never gives it back, eventually my entire 360 collection is in his room and I have to go haul it all out only to discover he's lent some of it to his friends and i'll never see it again. Followed swiftly by me punching him.
I got this stuff here for free (it's a slightly older snapshot, after a recent format)... Well, most of it, I did buy some that weren't unlocked, and then some others outside Steam just to support the indies who made them. You should be seeing 9 columns, if your window's wide enough.
That better be legit. How the hell did you wangle tem for free? Friend gave up his account after his PC bust or something?
Aww c'mon, you can't just post that up there and not post a story, you're killing me. I wanna know how it happened :P
I've got most of the collection packs through weekend dealios, but that's insane.
final fantasy 7 for 10 bucks at an ebgames back in 04.Shenmue 2 dreamcast version for 10 bucks at a gamestop in 02
How can it be rare with so many millions copies sold (10, by the end of 2005)? People are just taking advantage of its popularity, there's no way that game should be sold for $200 like extremely limited and rare releases of the Panzer Dragoon Saga caliber. Amazon lists it from $36 (used).
The best deal I ever got was both LOTRO: Shadows of Angmar and Mines of Moria expansion for 70p or about $1.30 or so. What a deal! Still sealed too! Who needs to play a game when it costs less than a pound.
As for the best deal, I gotta say Audiosurf for $2.50 contends for best spot. Also, I got Zeno Clash for $10, great deal. Considered buying Oblivion on a weekend sale for $16 since I don't have the DLC and I own the game on CD (eww), but I backed out and it's gone up to $30 :-(
Oh and I picked up Battlefront II at a university junk sale a while back for $10, twas good :-)
Persona 4 with that awesome artbook for $40. I mean, it's not much of a deal but seeing that I spent over 80 hours playing that game (and probably will spend more) that's a pretty freaking great deal.
Call of Duty 4 For £39.99 it had over 25 days approx out of me and still entertains me occasionally.
also preowned orange box for £10
Earlier today I was just quickly looking at the games at Sam's Club (Not planning on getting anything). And then I saw a little plastic slab of Saints Row 2, the sticker on it said $8.81. I thought it wouldn't actually ring up to that but it actually rang up to $6.81. So I got a new, sealed copy of Saints Row 2 for $6.81 (Its trade-in price on Amazon used is $15.25, so I think someone made a mistake, and has already or will soon be fired)
My best gaming deal was an 360 with a Memory Card and the necessary cables for $3.99. (I already had a controller, because I used it for my PCs gamepad.) It would have been $2.99, but I opted for the screwdriver that had the nice cushion on it. Yay for fixing things! Too bad it recently gave me the red ring of death.
Also, around when Steam first launched, I got Half-Life, all its expansion packs, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, Deathmatch Classic, and Richochet for free when I put in the Serial Key for my Half-Life: Initial Encounter disk I found at Goodwill for a dollar.
I went to Best Buy today. It was buy 2 DS games get one free. Not a bad surprise since i didnt know about it ahead of time.
This past Black Friday I went to target to try and get Dead Space for 30 bucks. I went and they were out, but they had FarCry 2 out for 20 bucks because they were out of something else. So I bought Far Cry 2 and got a rain check on Dead Space.
I felt like I had stolen something. And it felt good.
Got Guitar Hero 3 bundle for like $25 at launch thanks to EB's 4 game trade-in deal. I went to another store, bought $25 worth of bargain bin games, went to EB and traded them for a free GH3.
They were actually pretty pissed at me. I just went "Now you know how you make people feel when you give them $3 for a game your charging $30 for." He wasn't pleased.
