Characters of the Generation! Nominations closed!

This whole Game of the Generation poll series has been fun, if not at least a bit bloodthirsty and rather personal in the comments. But why limit the fun to just picking the game of the generation? Why not apply the same polling madness to pick the best characters of the generation?

Well, maybe not the exact same. Here's what we're going to do. Instead of a formal sixty-four option bracket that people will inevitably argue over, I will accept nominations for characters in these categories:

Female character needs to have Bonnie MacFarlane or you done fucked the whole thing up.

John Marston also deserves to be in there for male. But I think she was hands down the best female character I saw in a game this gen. (both from Red Dead Redemption to be clear).

Also, just would think there's better ways to do this than: Male or female. Heroes, villains, main, side, RPG party member, funniest character, character you'd most want to party with (to steal from GOTY), etc would be a more interesting and nuanced way to go.

I'd say Ezio probably belongs in the male character nominations.

Francis from Left 4 Dead - he fits in the bald space marine trend, but he's quite lovable and goofy always says the dumb things perfect fodder for any straight man in a comedy skit. Fans can make him into some avatar for their own internet meme antics but he still maintains his own personality. He isn't suppose to be deep, he's the most generic biker character since Tom Savaini, but he stands out from Shepard or Marcus Fenix into really memorable.

I'll try to think up some more. I'll probably list a dog or something dumb.

That seems like a good way to figure out the singular character of the generation, unless you're just gonna hold a vote between the winners of each category.

Also, I dunno where they'd go, but the Lutece Twins gotta be in this thing somewhere.
