If you could choose a forgotten franchise/underseen game to be revived, what would it be? And would a preffer the same old team to make it or a brand new team?
My answer would be Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico with the original Deadline Games team. That game is criminally underseen.
RULES:
1- The game/latest game in the franchise must have come out at least three years ago.
2- There must be no plans for a sequel/remake.
If you could choose a forgotten franchise...
"XIII - the game said To Be Continued right at the end for fuck sake give me a sequel. Talk about bullshit cliffhangers. "
Oh dude you just reminded me, remember how awesome that game looked when it came out? What a shame...
DUKE NUKEM BABY!!!
although it's never going to happen. "it's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and i'm all out of gum"

"My answer would be Total Overdose: A Gunslinger's Tale in Mexico"http://www.giantbomb.com/chili-con-carnage/61-19080/ This is the pseudo-sequel for PSP, if you are interested. I will say that for being a low-budget indie game, Total Overdose was a fucking blast!!! I would love to see someone dedicate some money and time to that as a franchise (I'm looking at you, EA!).
Mostly old Origin stuff like Ultima, Wing Commander or things like Dungeon Keeper. All under EA *shakes fist*
Skies of Arcadia
Freedom Fighters, Gladius and The Suffering. I must have played through those games half a dozen times each. While they arn't going to win any awards for their gameplay the story was interesting enough to carry things on its own. I would kill to see a next gen sequel to each.
Duke Nukem of course.
No One Lives Forever. It got great praise from critics but I guess it just didn't sell well, and we just got the Contract J.A.C.K. sequel... which I like to pretend doesn't exist.
Unreal (Not talking about Unreal Tournament, I mean like Unreal 2: The Awakening)
A new Quake game that's actually made by id
"I'd actually like a sequel to Luigi's mansion. It'd be interesting to see how it would adapt to the Wii."I would love to see a to sequel to Luigi's Mansion! I would not mind seeing a sequel to Intelligent Qube that was a badass puzzle game, or at re-release it as download
Stuff I think would be awesome AND WORK WELL (A good 3D Castlevania would be awesome if that were in any way possible) :
Blaster Master - massive open (under)-world.
Desert Strike - first person & behind view, same basic mechanics, awesome action & graphics (not much sim). It's depressing how little awesome helicopter action there is in games these days.
Battletoads - Lots of variety and white knuckle action. Couldn't ask for more.
Wing Commander - Story pushed, intense and visual space combat (not slow paced or simmy at all, gotta be as in your face as possible, to make it like a space battle in a movie)
Descent
Some good ones already on here that I would love to see get a rez
Monkey Island - YES!
Vagrent Story - Hell Yes!
Out of this World - For sure
Planescape Torment - If only
Wave Racer - shocked it hasn't
Jedi Outcast - For shnizel my nizel (prob miss spelled that but who cares snoop dog can yell at me later)
Here is that I am shocked no one has brought up.
Panzer Dragoon Saga. I loved that game
I've got 5 offerings for resurrection... I know some of these games have had sequels but it's been years since they graced our view and deserve a chance to shine again.
Anyone for a real sequel to the Soldier of Fortune franchise? Imagine all the body parts you could be dismembering right now, but aren't thanks to Activision Blizzard....
Many great series have already been mentioned, so I'll try to come up with some new ones.
- The Neverhood
- A new Oddworld game that follows Abe (Stranger's Wrath was pretty good, but I wanted more Abe platforming).
- Syndicate
- Full Throttle
- A 2-d Earthworm Jim (If, and only if, there were incredibly detailed assets along the lines of Muramasa and Odin Sphere).
That's all I can think of right now, but man I'm sure there are so many I'm forgetting.
I see that once again, I am the one who mentions the Might and Magic series (The RPG, not the Turn Based Strategy spinoff). Those games were awesome.
Also, since Capcom enjoys whoring out Resident Evil so much on lame rail shooters, why don't they remake Resident Evil 2 (or 3, I'm not picky) in the old style like what they did with REmake for the Gamecube? I could use some bad tank controls and pre-rendered camera angles right about now.

Unfortunately what we got was Darkside Chronicles which has parts of RE2 but on rails.
I'm gonna have to go with Galerians, the game was just so damn awesome.
