As in I didn't know about it beforehand, I remember the last time there was a huge thread about new mods but this one sort of just happened suddenly. It's not a complaint or anything at all, was just surprised. But as for the mod selection, I would have voted for these guys anyway since they are great community members, so a great choice picking them.
Congrats to the new mod team. I have to ask, though, why all of the moderators have such creepy avatars. All of them look ostensibly like they could be watching you- on purpose, or no?
