I usually tip him like a buck or something because the pizza place is 6 blocks away from my house. I usually try and have the end total be an even 15 or 20. How much do you tip your pizza guys?
I tip well for people who have to drive a vehicle on my behalf. Gas, insurance and the dangers of driving are much bigger costs for them than what some waitress or barista face. So naturally I tip delivery guys and taxi drivers well. When I order pizza it's usually an order that is around $32 to $35 so it's easiest to just give them $40.
As a pizza delivery guy for awhile in college, I tip my pizza delivery guy about $5 min because it's saving me a lot of trouble and I know the job doesn't pay well especially the rural part of the country due to having to deliver greater distances for the same pay as someone in a more urban city. When I did it we covered a 10 mile radius and some deliveries would be as much as 1 hour to deliver the pizza to then get to keep the change to the nearest dollar.
The driver doesn't do more or less work depending on what you order, so percentages shouldn't be a factor. If the driver takes an especially long time, that usually means the store is slammed/busy, and is doing his best to get the pizza to your house as soon as possible. Only time you should tip him less is if he forgets something you requested.
Usually just 15%. Unless I have cash and then I tend to overtip and let them keep the change because I don't want to wait around for him to fish out some coins. $1 is not the end of the world for me, keep it dude!
I generally tip around $4-5. I have on a few rare occasions actually tipped more than that if it's raining incredibly hard and I feel some sort of guilt about making the person do their job.
Usually 20%ish, unless the service was poor. I generally tip pretty generously unless the person gives me a reason not to, because an extra buck is no skin off my back, and it helps compensate a little for customers who don't tip at all.
When I lived in a place where we could deliver I would throw him a loonie. If it was someone I recognized then a toonie. They were like a 2 min drive from where I lived so I wasn't going to tip much. I just find the idea of tipping beyond stupid. They are already getting paid to do their job why should I pay more? I get paid shit for doing a shit job but I don't get any tips. Why is it they get it special because they are handing me food?
I don't tip because society says I have to. All right, if someone deserves a tip, if they really put forth an effort, I'll give them something a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, it's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doing their job. -- My reaction in the US, since us Swedes have no real tippingculture. But, my then girlfriend told me the math for deciding on what to tip so eventually I did that anyway, even if it's completely stupid, to avoid us never being able to go places.
I used to deliver pizzas for a good two years before I got into grad school. Looking back, I don't miss the job at all - I was almost always at work until 2AM, driving my own personal vehicle full of delicious food and CA$H MONEY into shady apartment complexes.
I almost never order pizza anymore because I know how it's made and the kinds of people who make it (high school kids who don't give two shits about food safety). On the rare occasion that I do, I'll spot the driver ten bucks.
The practice of working for tips is fucking barbaric, by the way. Pizza franchises make more than enough to pay their employees a living wage, but they still pay drivers sub-minimum wage and expect the kindness of strangers to make up the difference. Nothing. It's not a thing you do where I live. The delivery charge is included in the bill.
A lot of places in the US include a delivery charge, but it's still expected that you tip. I've never worked in food delivery, but I don't think that delivery charges or the number of deliveries actually impacts the delivery person's pay in any way. They're paid an hourly wage, which at least here in the states is relatively low, and I think they deserve a tip.
In other countries where tipping isn't expected and wages are adjusted correctly, then it's totally fine not to tip.

i feel like a moron because i tip the chinese place even though i have to pick the food up. but one time they did give me like 2 containers of free chicken fingers. that was a rad night!
Depends. I order Jimmy Johns for lunch at work about 2 times a week. Even though my order is only about $8-10 I still tip $2. Pizza orders are normally never more than $25 but I still tip around $5.

I've never, ever heard of a pizza place giving a car to the drivers to deliver in. The vast majority of drivers use their own vehicles, pay for their own gas, *and* cover their own car insurance, even when on the job. I was involved in a wreck during a delivery several years ago and tried to get my company to help me out, and they told me to fuck off. Great!
