The Moon, only because Earth will be in the sky, which will be more of an awesome sight than that of Mars.
If You Could Visit The Moon or Mars, Which Would You Choose?
"THIS is an outstanding point. I didn't think about that. That's definitely a huge case for going to Mars. Although my question was meant to be a "one-off" kinda scenario, like if you could go once which would you pick for your own satisfaction. Heh.
Probably Mars, as we have already landed a decent amount of people on the moon. By being able to easily explore mars, we could possibly find out much more about space, and other planets than we could have before. Beyond that, it would also serve as a jumping off point to get to planets even farther away, allowing us to investigate them as well.

" The Moon, because even though it's quite barren it still has that mystique and allure that it's always had. Sure, Mars has been important in mythology as well, but the Moon is simply majestic. Plus you can get a great view of Earth from up there! "
I TOTALLY AGREE!

" Mars Going to an other planet is different than landing on your planet's moon. It feels more symbolic. "
Also very true.
Whoa! I've never heard of this movie. I gotta see it! thanks!

" Moon cause I see it every night, so I want to explore it and see all the footprints of other people. PLUS THE FUCKING ROGUE AI HAS GOT TO GO. "
Indeed man. Indeed. To be able to SEE IT for yourself would be unbelievable.

Ooooo. Future poll? :P

I agree. And like I said, the monochromatic nature of it, everything being gray/b&w with just this one ball of color up in the black, atmosphere-less sky, EARTH.... So freakin' awesome." From the moon, you can see Earth, which would probably be breathtaking. From Mars you can see... the same stars you can see from Earth. And red rocks. So yeah. The moon. "
" @astrotriforce: The moon would be awesome for the view of Earth, I cannot think of anything more peaceful than being able to stare at the Earth from the Moon. "I TOTALLY agree. Peaceful. That's an interesting word. I think you'd be stunned speechless. Probably wouldn't even be able to move. It'd be that breathtaking.

Also the Moon in general is far more interesting than Mars (as it already has a number of elements [more than Mars] which can support life).
" @astrotriforce said:I think both would be HIGHLY interesting. I'd love to see the storms on Mars, or what about volcanic activity? What if there was life or more water/ice than we think there is now? I mean there are so many mysteries on both bodies. But I think the simple fact of seeing Earth, OUR PLANET, from the Moon, seals the deal for me. And I'm a Christian so the spiritual impact I think would be unfathomable on a believer. To witness Earth in that manner. Sucks so much that none of us will probably ever have that experience while we are here . . ." @Icemael said:^ This. Europa, jupiter's moon, there's ice on that bitch which of course means possible water, and possible life due to said water
" Assuming I could get back alive, definitely Mars. So many cool geological things I'd love to see there. "I agree that Mars would be amazing. Like I said above, seeing Martian storms, clouds, volcanos . . . whatever else exists there. It'd be insane to be in an alien landscape like that where ACTIVITY takes place. Unlike the moon....

LOL he IS a shithead!
As far as me, I would pick the Moon, mainly because of the whole toxicity, extreme heat and cold, etc. of Mars.
