I know it depresses me because the x-files premise interests me so much, but whenever I try to watch it I watch about half a season then get bored and stop.
I don't get why our bodies' physical response to us being really sad is to release water from our eyes. I've heard it explained that it's like sweating: the tears contain cellular waste products. But if that's the case, why does it only happen when you're sad?
well it is murder but then again you are providing the animals with life in the first place so... yep not murder. like wouldn't it be murder not to raise chickens and kill them because without you there would be way fewer chickens.
Eating animals is fine, it's what are bodies are made for. Raising animals in factories and genetically manipulating to the point that they are incapable of surviving on their own is anything but fine (and also less tasty).

@GreggD: I'm proud when I study for a hard test and then get a good grade on it. I'm not proud of the fact that both of my parents are white and by having me, I am white as well. Something like race doesn't seem like something you can logically be proud in as you have zero say in what your race is.

African Americans, for example, banded together to free themselves from slavery and oppression with the civil rights movement. Before that, they were forced to live in different neighborhoods, go to separate schools, etc. So being discriminated against forced them to stand up for who they are, and it created a feeling of cultural identity beyond what most whites experience. This same thing can be applied to years of discrimination gays have been through.

hmm, doesnt this work the other way around too? White people can be proud for managing to trick and oppress black people for hundreds of years... Also, most of the black people alive today didn't do anything, it was their forefathers. It's like saying that im proud to be swedish because we conquered most of the northern parts of europe more then 100 years ago

i don't think you get it. minorities are "proud" in the sense that they are saying, "hey, we aren't the majority racially or culturally, but we have just as much to contribute as the majority. minority pride movements are really about not being ashamed and asserting themselves as a valuable part of society in spite of oppression or prejudice. white pride is based on the idea that a)white people are being oppressed by minorities which is an absurd and paranoid belief to have, and/or b) a belief that white people are the rightful rulers of america and should therefore always retain an iron grip over politics and socio-cultural norms.
or, to put it simply, minority pride movements are defensive and white pride movements are aggressive, and that's why the former is generally regarded as good and the latter bad.
I don't get fat tourists that simply lie about the pool all day when they're on vacation. Is not life about discoveries and experiences? Lie on your fat ass you can do on your couch at home.
