It's so good it is intense, compelling and so exciting, but it also amazingly charts one man's transformation from a mild mannered man leaving his comfort zone doing what he feels must be done to help his family to a hardened ruthless criminal. It is a fantastic show the only thing I'd say is some friends I recommended the show to felt it started very slow which it does but for them at least this turned them off the show but i feel this slow start is excellent and necessary.
Sooo is Breaking Bad any good?

SOLD!! Thanks guys. Now to hunt down the box sets.
I bought seasons 1 and 3 on dvd at walmart and they were only 15 bucks each. By far the best show on television.
It's okay. Brad sadly does pretty good and doesn't scream and whimper enough for my satisfaction. They also had that Brad Muir who is easy to like and said some interesting things. Good show, waiting for Dave and Vinny or Drew and Vinny. That needs to start happening again also.
I...don't really like it much at all, to be honest.
The acting is fantastic, no question, and it is definitely atmospheric and tense, but (and it took me a while to realise this) it almost feels like something like Nip/Tuck to me, where it seems the writers have set out to obviously and artificially make everything the most fucked up it can possibly be, always and unendingly.
A lot of people love this tension, and more power to them. But to me it started to feel forced quite quickly and kind of took me out of the show as a result, to the point where I was finding myself laughing in disbelief when the next horrible thing happened.
In saying that, I'm obviously hella minority on this one, so by all means I really hope you enjoy it yourself. There's no question that it is well crafted.

It's good, but it suffers from the problem of zero likeable characters. To some that might not matter, but the characters are generally what draw me into a TV show.
That's what I like about it, I appreciate a TV series that can have no likeable people and make you focus on the story. Again I haven't seen it in a while but the episode in mexico with tuco was amazing, some great TV.
It's so good I started watching it before it was even filmed.
Oh I already posted on this thread, damn.

What do you do when Walter gives it to Skylar? It's one of my favorite shows of all time. I watch it with my 65 year old dad. We both are huge fans.
@AlexW00d: How so? I mean I can understand maybe not particularly liking one main character in season 4 but his foe is so awesome that he almost makes you root for him (Trying to be as vague as I possibly can). And if by no likable characters, you mean characters that aren't clear good or evil but rather shades of grey then I agree. This show doesn't paint a certain character as gods among men like most shows end up doing. It shows you their strengths then shows their flaws. Just remember Humanity isn't all that "likable" sometimes.

I've not watched Series 4 yet, not aired over here. No you're right, I appreciate it for what it is too, but the good qualities of the characters don't outweigh the bad, for me. And maybe likeable was the wrong word? I just don't find myself caring for them, which as I said is what I watch TV shows for I guess. I will still watch series 4 when we get it over here, and I will continue to hate Skylar's guts.
I'm actually rewatching all the seasons on Netflix before the new ones start damn this show is the best show in a long time the writing and twists and turns in the series is highly entertaining I wish I could discover the show for the first time all over again so damn good.I would pay more then 100 bucks if Rockstar made a game on the series with all the real actors ect.. would be fucking awesome.

I get all awkward when my dad pulls it out and starts jerking it.
No other show has done such a great job at completely changing a character from start to finish. The transformation in which Walt goes through is absolutely amazing. The only other show, that I can think of, that came close to doing it as good was probably Battlestar Galactica.
The show is damn brilliant. The cast is amazing. Bryan Cranston makes the show. Three Emmy's for best actor in a row!!! Also shoutout to Bob Odenkirk who plays Saul Goodman. It's like all's good man.

Bad filming. Terrible acting .
It's one of those '' everything falls into place for the protagonist'' shows
You've gotta be trolling. Or else have nothing to compare Breaking Bad to.

You insinuating that Pregeta is a liar?
It's awesome. And they actually use real video games on the show whenever a character is playing something, so brownie points for that.
