Top 10 melee weapons in Shooters

Just saw this and thought it was relevant :P

Fire Axe in L4D2. Also really anything in TF2.

Energy sword over gravity hammer, crowbar from Half-Life above all, and the engineer's wrench ahead of the baseball bat. Just my opinion, though.

I'd suggest Lightsaber from the Jedi Knight series, the only problem being it stops being a shooter after you obtain it...

TF2 has a lot of really great melee weapons, but I didn't want my personal top 10 to be cluttered with a bunch of weapons from the same game. Other than the Ullapool Caber that made my list, I think the Axtinguisher, Persain Persuader, Half Zatoichi, Back scratcher, Scotsman's Skullcutter, Kukri/Bushwacker, Amputator, Frying Pan, Homewrecker, and KGB (especially with Buffalo Steak powerup) are all great melee weapons in that game.

They put the Gravity Hammer over the sword from Halo?

The frying pan in Left 4 Dead 2. BWONG!! 
Actually most of the melee weapons in L4D2 are gold - with some solid gold sound effects. 
 
I'm also a big fan of Halo's Gravity Hammer - it's feeling of weight and impact is fantastic.

The Sword in Halo 2 was much more fun than the Gravity Hammer in Halo 3!

The chainsaw from L4D2. Is there anything better than giant horde of zombies rushing head-on into your chainsaw?

I never played Hexen, I played Heretic though. Feel free to make your own Top 10 FPS/TPS melee weapons though :)
