Yo GB community, I bring peace and good tidings from the GR community. Some of us were wondering why (and I don't know how accurate this is) some of you/ a lot of you (I'm not sure) dislike GR... or at least TR.
(To avoid possibly confusion, GR = GamesRadar, TR = TalkRadar (the GR cast), and obviously GB = GiantBomb and GBC = GiantBombCast)
I don't really take much notice of this kinda stuff but I have detected a degree of animosity from at least individuals in the GB community towards GR and especially TR in the past, and the topic has come up round the GR forums before as well, so I and a couple of others just decided we might as well ask you guys whether there actually is a degree of general hate/ disapproval from your community towards GR and TR and whether there are any specific reasons why this exists (if it actually does)?
Disclaimer: In general we all <3 GB and The GBC (obviously there are always a few idiots who have no taste and don't) so this is purely a question and not some kind of attempt at creating forum feuds or stirring sh*t up... cuz we honestly just wouldn't want to, in general, but especially with this site.
I don't have any hate for Games Radar, or even Gamespot.
The only website i have some doubts about, and is part of the Games Radar group is Metacritic. They should make a straight average when classifying games, instead of the weighted average, that no normal user can't replicate, which makes it more dubious.
Still someone somewhere can hate for the stupidest reason. So don't think we're a bunch of haters. From what i've heard, dislike is bigger for Giantbomb where, in some places, we're look at like members of a gaming cult. lol
I actually like GamesRadar a great deal. I honestly haven't spent a great deal of time there, but over the past several years I have visited the site on many occasions when I've found links to their articles on other websites. They seem like pretty jovial, good-natured people. I'm afraid that I haven't listened to TalkRadar though. Maybe I'll listen to it later today as I'm out of podcasts to listen to for the week.
Also, I've never heard anyone speak ill of GamesRadar or TalkRadar on these forums. I'm sure it's happened (as Soapy86 said, this is the internet and people are assholes) but it's not a widespread problem if it's a problem at all.
Where the fuck do you get the idea that the GB community hates the GR community? I mean, frankly I don't hate you but I don't give a shit about GR either. I've never even seen anybody here talk about GR. A few comments frm this community, like 4 or 5 people out of a few thousand? Yeah, it doesn't mean anything.
Quoting a few people on our forum, doesn't represent the community. There's no hate. I'm pretty sure the only sites "we" hate, are those like 4chan. Some will say Gamespot for luls, but without it, there's no GB.
The minority of douches that hate on things are always more vocal than the people who like or are indifferent towards a site. I've personally had very little dealings with Games Radar myself, but everything I've seen from it looks fine to me.

Talk radar is currently my favourite gaming podcast, i love the staff there (though they don't get enough credit for the work they do). The site is kind of awkward to use so i only check back every now and then.
Ah well, appears our fears were unfounded and the rumours nothing but lies and slander. I'll be sure to let any GR doubters know that you lot not only have no grudge against GR and TR, but are in fact lovely people, and that we should all meet up and make babies some time.
Never heard of this particular hate, but this community does tend to be ridiculously spoiled and elitist at times, so it's not out of the question. In short: lots of people here are quick to get on any bandwagon they set their eyes on.
Only site I HATE is kotaku, other than that, their all gaming sites providing me with the info I want. If you're talking gamesite communities, I wouldn't know. I've only been here at GB.

I kind of stopped listening to TR after year 1, cause it got a little too much, but don't actually dislike them anymore than I dislike my local radio station talk crew, with their faaaaaablous prizes and $5 foot-long bus.
Never heard any hate for GR. I don't particularily like the site because every single article is multiple pages to get more ad money and that's annoying, but I don't think I've ever expressed that before. And I put up with it because usually the articles are worth it.

Games Radar, to me anyway, just has a bunch of stuff like "Top Ten Best Game Vixens" or...stuff like that. I don't hate their podcast, because I havn't listened to it. But the site itself is a joke with all the ads, and it just doesn't seem professional.
Also, I don't see how the Giant Bomb forums are "riddled with trolls", but whatever.

That's a popular (and unfortunate) misconception. The fact is that lists sell and portraying articles as such works. On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of the UK side of the site. Being a big fan of TalkRadar and all, I'm much more into the US editors and their articles. They're also more experienced in the field of Gamz Jarnalism in general.

I've been on this site since day one and not heard any hate from the community towards Games Radar or Talk Radar. Personally although I don't visit Games Radar very often and have never listened to Talk Radar I have absolutely no problem with either of them and am glad there are more fans of Giant Bomb out there.

On Topic: I think I may just have been convinced to try out the TalkRadar podcast.
@JohnnyMaverik: I remember the the source of the "feud", about a year ago some thread happened, eventually resulting in a crossover TalkRadar where I think Jeff visited. Anyway, since then there has been a friendly mock-rivalry between us and them? At least, that's how I've always looked at it.
