What is the very first video game you remember playing?
I can't remember which one I played first, as I only got into gaming from the hand-me-down systems of my older siblings. It's a three way possibility: either Tetris on the Gameboy, Galaga on the Gameboy, or Super Mario Bros. on the NES. Those are the three earliest games I can remember playing.
I think it was either Tetris or Digger or DigDug on a very old computer and they were on floppy disks! lol!
For console, Rockman 2 was my first game :)
Solitaire, back in 1991 or 1992. Dad got a new laptop from work and was playing it. He taught me how to play, so I played it past my bedtime trying to win a round. I must have been 3 or 4. After that there was this golf game for our old computer that had a black and orange monitor. It was a pre C64 computer, but the golf game was advanced enough to have a level editor. I think I spent more time making levels than I did playing golf. I couldn't read at the time, so I couldn't play typing tutor, which was a game that my sister and dad were great at. Words would drop from the sky and bomb your city if you didn't type them.
I don't remember the name but one of my earliest is a Raiden style shooting game on the Original Game Boy that let you change between a lower and higher plane to fight in. I could never make it past the first level.
We had one of those knock-off Atari things with the plastic fake wood panelling and the built in 20 derivative pong clones but apart from that it was a Commodore 64 with a "Who Killed Cock Robin?" game that I never did figure out how to actually play and "Target : Renegade" which was my favourite (and only) game for a whole xmas.
Shoot, I don't remember what the game was called, but I remember playing some sort of hide-and-seek type thing that I had to launch with DOS. That is definitely the first one I remember.
I seem to remember it being Crash Bandicoot 2 over my uncle's house. First time I'd ever seen a Playstation, if I remember correctly. The level was Hang Eight. I had 7 lives, and I lost none. My uncle was all "Whaat". First game I owned was Pokémon Pinball for the Game Boy, but I played it on A Game Boy Color because I'm a rebel like that.
Freddy Hardest on the Amstrad. I was so into that I drew maps of the levels in the back of the damn manual.
Probably Combat on the 2600. I think we got that and an electric race car set that year, that was an awesome Christmas! I can still smell the ozone in the air from that race track.
Mine's kind of odd. I first remember playing Dashin' Desperados on the Sega Genesis with my mom.
Probably something on the intellivision. I know my uncle had one when I was real young and would always want him to hook it up so I could play it. The only game I really remember from it though is like D&D and maybe some like ice hockey thing.
Mario Party. My cousins used to bring it over after school everyday. One of them actually carried his 64 to school every morning because my dad would take care of them after.
I know it was the Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros. combo; I played enough of both that I really don't know which of the two came first, but whatever.
Frogger or Empire Strikes Back on the 2600. That was the only two games I had for the thing at the time. But, I did have the 2600 that had the built in keyboard. I could write the word boobs like no one's business.
