El-Producto ----- I'll Sleep When You're Dead album. Best record I've heard in years, genre notwithstanding.
I'm sure you've already heard since you're into Aesop Rock. Oh also Cannibal Ox is excellent.
I guess I'll list from rappers into rap groups?
Off the top of my head and in no particular order:
Slug
P.O.S.
Brother Ali
Murs
MF Doom
Aesop Rock
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Nujabes
Toki Wright
Del The Funkee Homosapian
Eydea & Abilities
Everyone from Living Legends
Soul Position
Blue Scholars
Zion I
Heiroglyphics
A Tribe Called Quest
Jurrasic 5
People Under The Stairs
Boom Bap Project
And of course, Wu-Tang.
Edit: I CANT BELIEVE I FORGOT NOTORIUS BIG!
It's hard to argue with Jay Z being the best, his discography is nuts and so consistent.
He's my fav, but at the moment I like Immortal Technique.
Can't believe nobody has mentioned him.
" Name 'em!You forgot Common! :P"
- (MF) DOOM/Viktor Vaughn/Metal Fingers/King Geedorah
- Black Thought
- Jay-Z
- Aesop Rock
- Lupe Fiasco
- Ghostface Killah
- Mos Def
I thought the At The Helm sample was a nice touch.

I can't really name an all-time favorite, because it changes all the time. But right now it would probably be Fashawn. The dude is really talented, and his album is one of the great overseen ones from 2009. And I am just facepalming at those who says Lil Wayne, but each to his own :/
EDIT: Why has nobody mentioned eLZhi? He's extremely dope, and should get some more recognition ^^
i noticed that a lot of people here are really into mos def, and ive never really understood why. ecstatic was probably my third favorite album of the year, but aside from black on both sides the rest of his catalog is fairly weak. imo his blackstar counterpart is a far better rapper
I see there's many of you picking out Nas, which is good, Nas is definitely a great rapper. I myself have always thought Nas to be a great studio rapper, for me that's where his greatness lies, but on stage I don't think he has the same precision and effect. I think Nas's rap style is very dependant on the precision of delivery you see on his records, I don't think he's able to replicate that on stage to the same degree. In stark contrast, JayZ can.
Is there anything wrong with liking Kanye West?
Some albums have a cool vision to them and the production is really. Im not really into rap. I sorta like Kid Cudi but just becouse of im a Ratatat fanboy and the songs they helped with were pretty cool.
Any guy from the Wu-Tang. ODB. Loved his style that dude was nuts.
My personal favorite: Vinnie Paz. His rimes are just too sick.
Hold the device tight, when it's time for a mic fight
You're a pagan tryin to battle someone who's Christ-like
The precise knight that smash you with a white pipe
Left you bleeding into the ocean under the night's light
So many...
Beastie Boys
Redman
The RZA
Ghostface
Methodman
Eminem
Eazy E
B-Real
Mike Skinner
...and the list goes on and on.
