Would you play a story driven game if the lead character was homosexual (gay/lesbian) ?
Not sure if I'd call it 'story-driven' but I have played through Bare Knuckle 3 as Ash.
My playing the game or not would depend entirely on the quality of the story and characterisation, not on the sexual orientation of said characters.

No because I am a raging homophobe and I have an irrational disgust for anything that isn't heterosexual.

I said yes but the better question is How Gay would a main character have to be to make you not play?
A) Kind of Gay
B) Really Really Gay
C) Super Duper Gay
D) Adam Lambert
Depends. If that was just part of the bigger story then sure. If a lot of the game focused on gettin all sexy time with dudes then no. Not my thing. Unless it was Garrus or Tom Hardy then sign me up!
If they throw gay sexy time in my face all the time for no real reason then no, if it was subtle or an important part a story arc then sure. It all depends on the execution.
I would if the game didnt force me to watch some dude on dude action.
So I probably wouldnt play an rpg or any sort of game that has strong personal story elements related to the main character´s sexual interactions, but everything else would be fine. For all I know many of the characters I´ve played over the years are gay.
Umm, it depends on what the story was about. If the game was about hetero or homosexual relationships I wouldn't play it. That would bore me in a game. If the duder/duderette happened to be gay and it wasn't about that at all, I wouldn't care. I think games about relationships no matter orientation tend to be very stereotypical, so I don't play them(I am looking at you BioWare. How stereotypical can you be?).

Wasn't there a post about this a few months ago?
Yep. Would you play a game with an openly homosexual protagonist (Sept 2011)
My answer is still the same, straight, gay, and even flaming gay, it doesn't matter to me as long as the game is good. My sexuality and a pretend digital character's sexuality have nothing in common. One won't impact the other.
I think you already can. Ever heard of Fear Effect? Or especially the prequel? Anyways, besides me totally forgetting about those games (though I haven't played the second which is where I guess it starts), I would have to say it really depends. If we're going to get little glimpses of him having sex with another male, or something along the lines of Ezio but being gay, probably not. If it was subtle, maybe. I think I'm fine just playing straight characters with gay characters in it as well (GTA). I think I'd rather play a lesbian than a gay guy also if I had to choose.
i answered yes, but the real answer is no. if that was to happen that's how the gay gets you if play as one of them even in a video game, the gay would come through the vibrations in the controller. by the time you were done with the game you would be helping your sister buy shoes and decorate your home, its true that how it happens once the gay gets you.

That's entirely dependent on the character and not at all dependent on their sexuality. But yeah.
this.
