    A grief beard is facial hair that appears on a character after something tragic happens to them in a storyline. The amount of tragedy and how the character is handling it can often be seen in the beard itself.

    The beard in DP doesn't grow in real-time, they just switch the face textures after a certain amount of time has passed. Real-Time would mean that the game constantly calculates the length of each individual hair, which it doesn't, naturally. This is also the reason why the beard in DP always looks exactly the same.

    I can't think of any other games with beard growth, but I'd like to think that Deadly Premonition is the only one to have that as a feature.
     
    Also, I shaved every time I had the opportunity. After watching the Endurance Runs, I realize that I missed way out.
