    hmm, good question.  If I remember correctly, there was DLC code or anything like that to make the "extras" menu show up on the main menu.  I bet you still could, but don't quote me haha.

    Yep.  Anyone who has Halo 3: ODST can enter the beta, because you can ONLY access it via the disc.

    Haha no.  You will actually play the beta from the ODST disc AFAIK.  It's not like you sign up and then you download the beta as if it were a demo.

    I guess I'll just buy ODST here at some point... even though I have 1, 2, and 3, I just didn't feel like picking-up ODST.  Reach looks a lot less of being more of the same.

    ODST is pretty awesome, IMO.  You've sort of missed your window of opportunity where everyone is playing Firefight, but the campaign is pretty awesome as well.

    To answer the question, yeah - you could buy a new specially-marked copy all the way up until the day before, and it'll have it.  It's kinda the same way that Crackdown worked with the Halo 3 beta.
