Elites, also known as Sangheili are a Covenant race in the Halo series. During Halo: Combat Evolved and the bulk of Halo 2 they are the primary antagonists. They became semi allied with the humans in Halo 3, and are in a political crisis during Halo 4, some still at war with Humanity.
Grunts are part of the Covenant Army. Due to their sheer number and low standing, they are often used as cannon fodder.

The Human-Covenant War was a series of battles that was fought between the UNSC and the Covenant Empire.
Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (A.K.A. Helljumpers) are UNSC special forces from the Halo franchise. They are considered the best of the best of the natural Humans; only the cybernetically and surgically-enhanced Spartan supersoldiers outperform the ODSTs.
A division of the UNSC Navy in the Halo franchise. They played an integral part in the Human-Covenant War.
Planet destruction sometimes a gameplay mechanic, sometimes a plot point. Should cover pending as well as actual destruction.
An alien alliance consisting of several unique species that serves as one enemy in the Halo franchise.
The United Nations Space Command is the military force that represents the united Human race in the Halo franchise. They are all that stand between the Covenant and their goal of exterminating Humanity.
War is a series of organized conflicts carried on by force of arms between two or more nations or groups. Whether it never changes or has already changed is up for debate.
