Agent 47 returns after a six-year hiatus to embark on a mission of redemption for the only person he could ever trust.
16 minute gameplay video leaked
Cant wait to play this, I have never really played any games from this franchise but this one is looking great. Although i will say that his x-ray type vision needs a bit of explaining, he doesn't seem to have any gadgets that well let him see through walls.
I'm interested, but not sure how I feel about a few of the changes. The new voice is a little weird for any fans of the series, I'm sure I'll get used to it, but still. Weird. Also not sure about the detective vision. It seems mad useful, don't get me wrong, but it might be too useful. I'll hold my opinion until the game is closer to release though, maybe there is some restriction on that.
I just thought it kinda sucked that he shot two pistol rounds into a guy up-close, then proceeded to successfully use his not-blood stained clothes as a disguise. Didn't the earlier Hitman games penalize you on shooting?
Looks like a great game, but that footage is barely recognizable as a Hitman game. The sandbox mechanic was why I liked the franchise so much, but it is almost completely nonexistent in that level. And I'm not sure how I feel about the action sequences yet. I'm not making any judgments on the game as a whole yet because this could be the tutorial level.

Did this remind anyone else of Leon: The Professional?
Also; Inception horn?
The last mission in Hitman: Contracts more closely resembles the end of that movie, but I see the inspiration here too.
I've played all of the games and it really isn't that ridiculous. These knee jerk reactions to every game are getting old.

I know exactly how I feel about it. It fucking sucks. Maybe They Know something we don't, Maybe he started sounding all drunk like Michael Ironside did in Conviction, but I hope they had a really good reason for cutting this guy out. Also they dumped jesper Kyd so they could throw in some derivative, Inception sounding bullshit. The music and the voice talent wasn't the problem with these games.
I was going to snark at the haters, but then I checked out the jesper Kyd dudeglove posted, and also remembered the end-cut for Silent assassin. Jesper, you will be missed. I liked Agent 47's voice too. Hopefully(I haven't seen the trailer) they don't mess with his dissociated but profound sense of morality. Cold as it was, the villain in No Country for Old Men couldn't hold a candle to Agent47. the job and the target counted, not a flip of a coin or the elimination of a civvie inconveniently in the way. That said, while also expressing the desire for multiple approaches, I would not mind him busting out a little, like he allowed himself at the end of silent Assassin.
I found it to be pretty neat, great lighting and good graphics overall.
I just hope there will be more classic missions, little action heavy segments like shown in this demo are ok, but not if the whole game is based around that.
Also I really really really don't like the "detective vision" or whatever they'll call it where you see every enemy (even behind freaking walls) and their paths, that'll make the game too effin easy, well I guess some dumbing down is to be expected in this day and age, I hope that thing will be disabled on higher difficulty levels.

He might have been pissed about not getting to play Agent 47 in the movie, which he lobbied pretty hard for.
This is probably the intro level to the game. Every intro level in the Hitman series has been heavily scripted as I recalled.
Either way, looked good.

Ah yes, the most important thing in any Hitman game is the npc voice acting.
Oh right, in a game where you spend the majority of time sneaking around and listening in on conversations, its so arbitrary and menial to complain about the out-of-place and over-the-top voices of NPC's in the game. Stealth games have always been reknown for shitty voice acting, but that's not something that people should accept as a standard when so many other games today do it so much better.
YES YES YES!
Well optimistic excitement. I hope that is one of the more linear sections that they spoke of having in the game. Those gameplay systems put in to practice in a sandbox environment would be amazing.
I loved the older Hitman games though, and not having Jesper Kyd does kind of suck a little. His soundtrack reinforced an elegance that Agent 47 would strive for in his line of work.
This is definitely more cinematic than any of the other Hitman games. Yeah, it is a bit unoriginal in a sense, but if it all comes together well, then I can't care less. Plus, this is just the kind of gameplay I like. It looks... very good I guess. By the way, "I see you can't sniff a fart out of your own ass."? First day buy.
Looks more action movie than I would expect, but whatever. It still looks different enough to stay its own thing.

And after 4 pages somebody figured out that it was the intro level of the game. Also people this was the demo thats been in every magazine since it was announced so the "batvision" thing was maxed out for the sake of the preview. Seriously people, not every idea thats taken and put into another game is bad.
Not Hitman, it's Batman.
If you are a fan of Hitman, like me, and have played all the Hitman games, this doesn't look like a Hitman game. They have not changed it a little bit. There's no map, no Jesper Kyd, no David Bateson, and a close relationship with Diana. I won't buy Absolution. Unless it gets good reviews and views some promise.
EDIT: Without Jesper Kyd, the soundtrack seems to turn out alright though.
