Hook

Overview

Hook is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed by Irem for the arcade platform.

Gameplay

Hook is strictly a side scrolling brawler and plays much like other games of the same genre. Gameplay starts at the left of the level and the goal is to reach the far right, defeating any enemies along the way. Each of the games levels have a different boss character at the end.

Characters

There are five selectable characters in Hook. Each character has unique attacks. Every character in the game has two different combo attacks that can be achieved by landing four regular hits in a row. Each character also possesses a super attack that can be performed by pressing the jump and attack buttons at the same time. When the super move is used a small amount of the characters health will be depleted.
