Overview
Kami is a puzzle game where the aim is to make all the tiles on a board the same color by tapping tiles. Tiles can be changed to any other color; choosing one changes it and all connected tiles of its color (cascading outwards from the original tile). The game includes five groups of 9 levels, increasing in difficulty with more colors and more complex patterns. Kami has many meanings, including a type of paper used for origami.
Each level can be solved in a minimum number of moves, which is displayed, and doing so achieves a 'perfect' score. Using one more move than the minimum achieves an 'OK' score; completing a puzzle with more moves is considered a 'Fail'. There is no other scoring, and all puzzles are available at the start of the game. The maximum-minimum move count in the standard puzzles is only 8.
A number of premium puzzles are also available, which increase difficulty by using more colors or different, patterned tile designs.
Puzzles can be reset to their original state, but there is no way to undo a single move. Puzzles can also be ruined by tapping too fast; if unfolding tiles meet unfolding tiles of another color they create a new boundary (this is never required to solve a puzzle). The Steam version of the game includes a hint system, limited to a certain number of hints each day.
