God these comments are lame. It was funny the first couple times back when the trailer for the game was put up, but now people are saying the SAME FUCKING THING over and over again.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
Game » consists of 10 releases. Released Aug 17, 2010
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days makes a notable switch of the titular duo, with James Lynch now taking up the role as lead protagonist over Kane. However the two are still once again forced to endure a hail of gunfire as they find themselves embroiled in Shanghai's criminal underworld.
First Impressions: Kane & Lynch 2
" @Hitchenson said:Yep, and the worst are the people who are like: "OMFG TAHt GEAM SUXXORZZZ!!!"11!" , just because of that .... I mean, come an, it's just a videogame.." Oh man, so many people are going to be making that joke. "Yes, but so far more people have been alluding to that joke than actually making it. Just leave it alone altogether. "
No matter how good/bad it turns out Eidos is dead to me. Wanted to give them a 2nd chance with Batman but they can go DIAF after their mag cover+ 9+ score or no exclusive bullshit. Glad I bought it used and then returned for full refund before the week was over making sure they didn't get one red cent.
" @Nightsearch said:Agreed. Giantbomb is the shit! Thanks Eidos!!" @najibu said:I was thinking that too! <3GiantBomb<3 "" the best thing about the first Kane & Lynch was that it (probably) started a chain of events that eventually gave birth to GiantBomb! "Just my thought! GiantBomb is my go-to-a-happy-place nowadays. "
" Why all the sensitive talk around here? Fuck Kane and Lynch 2... Fuck Eidos... Fuck Io Interactive... MildMolasses you are completely right. Jeff and his story completely overshadows anything anybody has to say about this game, and that's exactly the way it should be. Everybody that has subscribed to this site knows exactly why they came here. We all love it and we all visit it for a reason. We know the reason we're here. The people that work at GiantBomb and their personalities are a huge reason why many of us came here. They are as important to many of us that visit as the games they cover. You really think people come here for their coverage? To be completely honest I don't really care for most of the content as far as previews and pre-release information is posted here. I care about the way it's presented by the people that work here. Jeff, Ryan, Vinny, Brad and the rest of the crew have amazing personalities that give a unique twist to alot of the content produced here. I can get better coverage on bigger sites. I don't even need to name any sites out there that are bigger with better coverage and huge amounts of information in them. I come here for them. I and many like me have come here and migrated with Jeff and the crew because we like what they offer in way of personality and charisma. "This es exactly how I feel, except for the fuck Eidos part (I will buy a game if its good, regardless of its publisher). But the reason I come to Giantbomb is because of the guys and that is that. When I listen to Bombcast I feel like I'm in a room with a couple of buddies talking about games and it's a riot. Keep up the god work guys, we are here for you.
Am I the only one who liked Kane & Lynch here? Yeah, I read/watched the Gamespot review, and at the time I had no idea who Jeff even was. I didn't pay attention to videogame politics at the time because games are meant to be fun. A lot of you are acting as if you really know Jeff or any of the other GB staffers and are trying to be the "in crowd" be referencing what controversy Jeff had. I don't even see why any of you care because it didn't happen to you. Sure, it may had inadvertently lead to the creation of Giantbomb, but again, why do you guys feel the need to express what a tool you are by bringing it up?
As for K&L: I really liked the story and presentation of the first game, and the gameplay was top notch until a point. The whole "we're the bad guys" vibe really got my blood flowing and until you get to South America the game was perhaps my favorite that year. Once it went to SoAme, though, it went to shit. The squad controls were absolute trash in that game, which is why I'm even more pumped for K&L2 now that squads are eliminated altogether.
I think everyone is just riding on Jeff's controversy and not even playing the game; it got fair reviews from everywhere, and even looking back at Jeff's review, a 6/10 isn't necessarily a bad score. Sure, it's below average, but that doesn't mean it's not fun or good. Remember review scores are based on games of higher caliber, so when Halo 2 gets a 9.5/10 or whatever, of course K&L will get a considerably lower score because the bar is set so high. If K&L came out in the PS2 era it would have been in high praise everywhere.
Before you all go "Fuck Io Interactive! Fuck Kane & Lynch!", go back and play the goddamn game. I actually hope Jeff reviews K&L2, but not because of the shitstorm it'll stir up everywhere, but because Jeff is an honest-to-god great reviewer and I value his opinion a lot. The way he described his first impressions of the game, I imagine he might even like it. All I'm saying is to hold your horses on the bullshit until the game is actually out or at least when a demo is out.
I'm finding it hard to see this setting itself apart from other 'cover available/orientated' 3rd person shooters, although i am looking forward to seeing some video footage of the lighting and camera work.
I think it says good things about the game that the Devs actually brought the game to Giant Bomb for a look. Given all the controversy over Jeff's review on the first game, I can't imagine they would want to be going out of there way to show this game to Jeff's critical eye once again.
If I were the devs, I would want to be keeping this game out of Jeff's hands for as long as possible. Unless I genuinely thought the game was really amazing. In that case, they probably think it will review well, and a good review from Jeff would create a lot of buzz for a game that is likely off most people's radar.
Personally I liked the premise of the first game & this one sounds cool too. If they can just nail the gameplay then I am in.

No matter who reviews it and what score will be given, all the comments to the review will either be:
"Haha, Jeff gave a high score, he got paid again"
or
"Haha, Jeff gave a low score, he can be a total jerk now because he can't be fired from his own site"
"Haha, Jeff gave a low score, HE WILLZ TOTALLI BE FIRED FROM GB NOW LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"
or
"Haha, Jeff didn't review it, he was too scared lolz"
All of the above is horrible, and one of those is going to happen. Another 10 pages of "HAHAH REMEMBER THAT THING ABOUT TEH THING????????"
I am ashamed to be in this community after I watch a QOTW video, and now once again after I realized that this site is filled with idiotic twats. I'll stick to the awesome and unique video content of this site, thank you very much. No forums for me.
S'truth. My horses are held, because A) what's past is past, and B) it's none of my goddamn business."I actually hope Jeff reviews K&L2, but not because of the shitstorm it'll stir up everywhere, but because Jeff is an honest-to-god great reviewer and I value his opinion a lot. Looking forward to a demo and a QL.
Hope it turns out good, the first game had some good things going for it I feel, and IO-Interactive are a quite creative bunch it would seem, shall be interesting to follow, no doubt.
Oddly enough the game is getting quite a bit of publicity over what happened with the first one, and as far as I know the first sold quite well.
I actually liked Kane & Lynch because of the cool setpieces and that the enviroments felt alive, it felt like you were there, I dunno why but I just sorta got that feel. The enviroments weren't made of much fantasy, but they had that variety that makes them feel real and natural, apart from the later jungle-missions though...
I'm looking forward to K&L2 for the SP action and story. K&L had such a downer-story that was really refreshing from all the gung-ho action stories that are out there. Plus Fragile Alliance is still a super cool idea for MP. I hope they really nail it in K&L2
hahaha
I can't explain how much joy it brings me to see how frustrated and angry people can get over such stupid things... Really blows the mind doesn't it?
So rip em' a new one Jeff! Run a "Kane and Lynch 2" skin on the GB cover page then shut down the site a week after your review quoting your advertisers fury as the reason...
Eat it up, sensitive bombers.. You love it so much. Be sure to clear your backblast area before launching from your computer chairs...
In case you are wondering... ( Jeff got fired from Gamespot, Kane and Lynch was the game he negatively reviewed to the advertisers dislike, Gamespot let him go to save their sponsor relationship. It's funny because this is the sequel. Flamers are angry. Normal people are amused. )
haha, it's great.
kind of dissapointed to see jeff take the professional route, not that there's a plausible way to do otherwise
Looks far better than the first one. No changes about the fact that the main characters are going to be nothing you can even remotely relate to, but that could have its flair, too.
Jeff should actually give this review to someone else - given the history. But hey, we all want to see Jeff do it.
I'm interested in seeing the mentioned "digital noise" effects in action. I'd like to see a couple more weapons this time around as well.
Third person shooters are a dime a dozen, they need a gimmick and it sounds like Io Interactive has found a gimmick that will make the game interesting. Well, at least it sounds interesting to me. I hope it comes together for them this time, I was pretty disappointed with the first game.
For those that are drudging up the past as it relates to Jeff and the K&L franchise, it's over. He knows what happened, and he knows that we all think we know what happened. Jeff is a proven, credible industry veteran, he didn't air out his dirty laundry or throw any barbs and you shouldn't expect him to. It doesn't matter who eventually reviews the game for giantbomb as they are all highly respected, professional individuals.
" @TragicallyErock said:You clearly misunderstand my point." I think it says good things about the game that the Devs actually brought the game to Giant Bomb for a look. Jeff is a good reviewer, but he didn't like the 1st game. Granted, MOST reviewers didn't like the 1st game.... but Jeff's review generated a lot of bad press for the game as a result of him getting fired. No doubt Jeff's impression of the sequel will hold a lot more weight than most reviewers as a result of that controversy.
So if the Dev's were just spitting out a re-skinned version of K&L1 then chances are Jeff will not like it yet again. However, the fact that they went out of their way to give him an early look, indicates to me that they are confident that they made a much better game this time around.
We will see how it turns out... but I just think that if this was going to be a half-hearted sequel, then they would try to avoid showing the game off to a reviewer who's likely to have negative things to say about it. I think that they expect Jeff may actually LIKE this game. If they weren't confident in this game, then they would probably give the first look to another outlet that would give it a more positive spin.
I'm in the "crappy games don't deserve sequels" camp. The first Kane & Lynch was so uniformly awful that there's no way I'm going to waste my time on the sequel. The time, effort and money put into this game would probably have been better spent on a completely different franchise. It's bad enough that we get so many damned sequels to mediocre games.
I can think of so many more games that were deserving of a sequel that will never get made.
I have no idea how the first one sold. I know I only checked it out (rented) after Jeff's termination came about to see what all the fuss was about. I'd imagine that contributed to some sales but the game was mediocre at best.
Eidos - give me another Hitman game, puh-lease!

Exactly... That plus the fact that Io Interactive actually has another franchise they can make a game for.
I'm much more interested in the next Hitman game since they never truly made the jump to next generation consoles with Hitman. The last game suffered on the 360 because it was also made for the PS2 and didn't reach its full Next Generation potential...
Also, to reiterate my point earlier...
Why all the sensitive talk around here?
Fuck Kane and Lynch 2... (Game looks like shit)
Fuck Eidos... (For the entire fiasco which is their fault)
Fuck Io Interactive... (For not having the brains and enough of a conscience to leave a shitty franchise buried. They had the option to stop making this shitty game and use those resources and manpower to make another franchise or to actually make a next generation Hitman.)

i've never played kayne and lynch, and by just readin this, it doesnt make me interested what so ever.
"you can grab fire extinguishers and toss them at enemies while shooting them to create an improvised explosion."
Wait isn't that hypocritical?
Also the visual style hides the compression on the images, well played, well played.
This happened...
