Over on Kotaku, I saw a link this morning to a video (courtesy of Hungary's GameStar) of the whole intro sequence, start to finish, from Killzone 2. The game isn't out for more than a month--so if you absolutely can't wait till then, give this a gander and see what you think.

For in-engine stuff, that is pretty amazing looking. I'm sure it was possible to see this video somewhere else a few weeks ago though. I've watched it before.

As far as the 2005 CGI trailer is concerned, the in-game cut-scene surpasses it. While the tiny details may not be quite as sharp, there is just so much more going on in the scene. The original trailer, although very polished, was rather empty. This is just packed to burst limit with stuff to take your eye. Also the environment looks much more realistic with the use of smoke and dust filling the air (Call of Duty 4 was the first game I found to use this really well to fill out areas).

Production Values = MONEY.  That's some of the best looking cutscene I've seen.  Totally made me want to run out and buy a PS3 right now.  They should totally show that during the previews of movies, 'cause that'd get people hyped.

The brief moment of game = SAME.  Granted, I haven't seen much of this game... But the gameplay looks exactly like every other FPS that's out there which kinda bums me out.  But hey... maybe it will turn out to be a great ride.

In terms of technology I know it's not better then crysis, but they still were able to make it look better.

I really want this to be good. But after Killzone 1 im not getting my hopes up, to make sure i will not be disepointe. It looks good, and gives me a good feeling tho. So im really really hoping.

Holy shit. My hype for this game has skyrocketed lately, and that video just sold me.

I refuse to watch this until I have the game in my console. But the brief moments I treated myself to were utterly breath taking.

I'm not going to watch it either, If it was in HD then maybe. But not gonna watch the intro for a game like this for the first time from YouTube. That is alot of Fs.

God damn that looks awesome. If there was one game that would make me think about buying a console, it would be this.

I have to say, pretty corny dialogue.  Couple of the characters (don't know the names) remind me of the Cole/Baird dynamic from Gears.  The first dude that you hear speaking has a good VA, but pretty bad material to work with.  Obviously the visuals are stunning, but the gameplay just looks too "standard" from everything I've seen.  Market is too saturated with shooters to be wasting time with generic ones.  Just one man's opinion though.

Hell yeah, they've come a long way from the first game and the infamous E3 trailer from years back.

The Helghast commander's voice acting is the best I've seen in a game so far, probably even in most movies.

Wow! after watching "Killzone 2 Killing dudes trailer" and this I actually want a PS3 now...Wow.

Nothing groundbreaking but this game still looks awesome and could join the list with metal gear as to why i want a PS3

Holy-frickn'-shit. That was some brilliant voice acting and killer cinematics.

The gameplay I already know will be a shitty sci-fi call of duty. but from this I can tell that as far as story goes the inter-personal stuff will be worse than Gears because it won't be hilariously bad, just bad; but the story universe it's set in looks a bit intriguing. Pretty though.....I'll probably rent it.

I dunno the voice acting is really bad and everything just seemed like one of them cliche stories. I'm not impressed by the CG intro and the whole in game intro on the flying thing is ruined by the camera not keeping you in first person view which breaks the immersion...

Just doesn't look good to me and tbh we've seen better graphics before so it all comes down to the gameplay.

They just blurr everything to fuck to make it look good.

Wow this looks amazing, but still, I am not convinced by the gameplay and have to play it for myself before lauding it.  Is it all real time?  That first part with the guy talking, i was almost convinced it was cg but then it pulled out.  The problem i have is with the animation of the characters.  The biggest one, is why does everyone walk the same, and not just that, but more importantly, is it just me or does everyone kinda waddle?  It looks really weird.  But that pull out to show the rocket ships, that looked great.

Is that Brian Cox?  KZ2 just went up a notch in my book.

I like how people a judging voice actors off of about thirty seconds of dialogue, quick trying to sound like you know what you're talking about, there is far more involved in voice acting than what you can get from a three minute opening sequence.  Anyway the opening cinamatic was pretty cool and I loved that it never cut, not sure most of you caught that, but that is something pretty cool and usually only seen in quality films.  The graphics(although hard to tell with that video quality) looks about on par with other high end graphics games, Gears of War comes to mind.

Intense.

Looks sick as hell. Hopefully Sony will actually market this beyond enthusiasts some people actually know about it, unlike just about every other Sony game.

in the middle of that video when it goes to soldiers being killed on the battlefield, its like a copy of gears of war 2 intro, even both have the main enemy talking while its going on

ps im no xbox fanboy, i loved the first killzone when i owned ps2, but im just sayin

I hope the game lives up to its shit, but I'm not expecting anything other then it LOOKING cool
