Overview
Lucina's character portraitLucina is a major character that appears in Fire Emblem: Awakening. Although she initially disguises herself as the Hero King Marth, Lucina is actually Chrom's daughter from the future. Like her father, she wields Falchion, the sword of Marth. Her birthday is April 20. She appears in the past to prevent the end of the world in her timeline, brought by the revival of the fell dragon Grima.
Lucina's potential mothers include Sumia, Maribelle, Sully, Olivia, and the female Avatar. If Chrom has no support levels with any potential spouses by Chapter 12, Lucina's mother will be an unnamed village girl. Unlike the other second-generation characters, Lucina's appearance is not affected by her optional parent, as she inherits Chrom's blue hair. The Mark of the Exalt is visible in the iris of her eye.
Depending on her mother, Lucina can be the sister of Cynthia, Kjelle, Morgan, Brady, or Inigo, or she can be an only child.
Lucina is a stern, serious girl that lives with the burden of knowing what will come in the future if steps can't be taken to avert it. For this reason, she is hesitant to reveal her true identity when she first aids her father. She crosses paths with him several times while disguised as Marth, at one point dueling him at Regna Ferox, but remains in the shadows until she is inadvertently unmasked.
Following the defeat of Grima, Lucina remains in the present, as the future she comes from no longer exists. Her final outcome varies depending on whether or not she has married, but regardless, she stays in contact with her family as her infant self has a brighter future ahead.

Gameplay
Like Chrom, Lucina's default class is Lord, and she can promote to a Great Lord. She also comes equipped with the Parallel Falchion, identical in every way to Chrom's own blade. However, while Chrom's Falchion becomes the Exalted Falchion upon undertaking the Awakening, Lucina's blade remains unchanged. She can, however, acquire the Exalted Falchion herself in the DLC battle "The Future Past 3," set in an alternate telling of the story in which she and the other children stay in the ruined future and attempt to bring an end to Grima then and there.
Super Smash Bros.
Lucina appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS as a playable character. Her moves and abilities are identical to Marth. However, unlike Marth, who focuses his attack power in the tip of his sword, Lucina's attack power is balanced throughout the blade. Lucina is also a little shorter than Marth.
