I found the character creation options in ME2 good enough to make a pretty convincing copy of myself, except for the part where there weren't any good hairstyles.
Mass Effect 3
Game » consists of 19 releases. Released Mar 06, 2012
When Earth begins to fall in an ancient cycle of destruction, Commander Shepard must unite the forces of the galaxy to stop the Reapers in the final chapter of the original Mass Effect trilogy.
Will you virtually clone yourself in ME3?
I'm sticking with default Shepard. Used if for one and two, not changing now.Isnt that the best looking one thats like fully rendered after a real person?

Yep! All of my creations look hideous.
No, I think I might even go so far as to scrap my old Shepard and just us the default one.I did that for my male shep in ME2

Used a custom character for my first playthrough of ME1, then on my second I used default Shepard. Never went back.
I just used a slight variation of FemShep from my first game. The character creator isn't bad per se, it's that just people in ME has always looked a little...plastic so to speak. I think Sims 3 is the only game where I managed to make a convincing clone of myself despite the cartoon-ish art style. Other games, not so much. Kinda prefer it that way.
I'm sticking with default Shepard. Hearing the voice with any other likeness(especially my own) just feels weird.
same here. I liked my creation but after playing once with the default and seeing how the face is supposed to animate I was never able to go back to the unholy custom shep.@SpikeSpiegel said:

So is mine, but it is still different enough from Shepards that it just feels weird when I put my face on him.
I had two femsheps:
Renegade pale girl with black hair
Paragon black girl with a hair style that I had to input the specific code to use.
I should go over it again, maybe I'll find a good face on that one archive site.

Wait a minute! Then there'd be two Miranda Lawsons running about!

Actually that sounds like a great idea.
@The_Laughing_Man: Default Shepard is modeled after (a young) Mark VanderlooDone!
Oddly enough there is no page for him on Giant Bomb, yet Alesia Glidewell (Chell) has one. Someone should fix that.
If they let you use the tech EA has employed in (mostly sports) games that uses a picture of yourself to build your face onto the character than I totally would; Jeff mentioned this idea on the bombcast once. Otherwise no, probably not. I won't use the default tho, that just seems boring to me.
Hell no. If I ever even play Mass Effect 1, I'll do what I always do: make Bushwald Sexyface and sexy my way through the universe. Hell, this would be the perfect game in which to do it.
I don't know if I could, and I don't especially want to. I do always create a custom Shepard, although only recently and through building off a model from masseffect2faces.com was I able to make an attractive character model with it.
Regardless, the shep I'm gonna be importing is kinda black, and I'm pretty white myself.

That combined with Casey Hudson's reveal of more same-sex relationships could cause a very bizzare/confusing scene.
hmmmmmmmm....
Shepard is the default Shepard for me, they spent time working on that voice and face and doing anything else causes this massive disconnect in my brain and I can't get into it. I loathe character creators anyway.
This exactly. When I replayed the game as an evil character and created an appropriately Drago-esque appearance I sort of assumed his voice would be different to suit the personality. As soon as he opened his mouth I decided that I could not handle it. I now only play through the game with two different characters. I have my main male (default) Shepard or my secondary female (custom) Shepard.I'm sticking with default Shepard. Hearing the voice with any other likeness(especially my own) just feels weird.
I wish! would probably be a lot more interesting than running around recruiting all these needy bastards. He is like a space hobo version of Michael Ironside.
