Max Winters is secretly the ancient warrior-king Yaotl, who centuries ago opened a portal to an alternate dimension that unleashed thirteen monsters into the world, as well as bestowed upon him immortality and turned his generals into stone. Many years later, Winters hired April O'Neil to track down the generals, and the Foot Clan to capture the monsters, so that he could bring back his friends to a human form, and cancel his immortality, which he'd begun to see as a curse. Unfortunately, his generals plotted against him, choosing to attempt to give themselves immortality instead.
Winters was voiced by Patrick Stewart in the film, and Mark Camacho in the game.
