I can't login is the server down?

Notch is just new to running a business, when you're in charge, people you select to do tasks don't do them exactly as expected. He panicked.

Just a heads up, both my animal farms in the frat house have been bothered with. Two stables with cows were left completely empty, and the large range was massacred and left with only chickens.

For now, I have closed off the farm and made it private. I want to open it up later on, and I also want to figure out who killed the poor animals :(.

Edit: I have slowly been breeding the animals back, but I prefer that the farm is left alone for now because I think some rules need to be set about what to do with the animals if someone has a plan for them. and some idea of where is the designated spot where animals can be killed.

I will put signs and design a spot where the animals in that spot are the ones that are okay to kill. I know this is a cruel concept but it is the only way. I have to design the farm better so there is less confusion, and no random people kill all my homies! haha :)

I can't connect to the server, and it just says 'communication error' no matter how many times I close + open minecraft or refresh the server list. Something wrong?

@Nodderly: I think the server just died...

I was on without a problem about two or so minutes ago, with Gnub and someone else, but then WindFall joined and I dropped, and now I can't get back in.

@jasondesante: Yes there should be absolutely no reason to randomly kill farm animals for food or materials at this point. Nobody should be going hungry, and we'll work out our "ingredient" supply best once things are settled in. Maybe put a sign "take a piggy, leave a piggy". :D Also yeah, subways need redstone, so only licensed technicians should be opening up walls. Probably just something not occurring to everyone, so signage is all-important.

@Massif: Thanks for your hard work, I find I rely on the map quite a bit. What tool are you using? I just grabbed the newest Minetographer and am loving it. Incredible feature set. I don't know if it is speedy enough to be practical for a SMP server though. Updates are very quick after the initial render, but an active server might put that to the test.

Server has been rebooted. Big ugly error in the log, but no obvious cause. Hopefully it remains stable.

Well, obviously not. I don't think anybody has ever stated otherwise. If that was the case, I wouldn't need all the other security add-ons, would I?

@jasondesante: I will not wipe the whitelist because of one farm. That represents a monstrous amount of hassle for me and for all users. We have had very little trouble with griefing for a Minecraft server and I'm not going to overreact.

Argh... thought I made my profile earlier than today or logged in or something. Maybe I was just lurking... been looking for a new server till Penny Arcade's Underdark gets back up. ^^;

I changed things a bit in the subway station and stuff in the frat house so its is less visually appealing :( blame the griefers.

Even though those who knew what it "used to look like" might have liked that better, hopefully the space is now designed more intelligently.

If the same spot gets griefed again (3 separate times) then I unfortunately be forced to take extreme action to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Can I just say that the pixel art looks awesome when viewed on the map? I mean, it always looks awesome, but it looks very smooth at this scale. And who made the Horde symbol? Don't make me get all Alliance up in hurr.

So I beat Saints Row the Third, and loved it. Still have Skyrim, and Gamefly is sending me another game. Either Batman, Gears, Assassin's Creed...

Once this onslaught of gaming stops, I swear I'll be all over this bitch.

@Massif: Night is pretty but I can't imagine using it for anything practical. Well actually there is one thing, seeing lit roads hidden by trees. But there aren't a ton of them to worry about. Like the hobbit says "we can cut across country easily enough".

@Capum15: I know myself and Nodderly visited the nether right after the server was updated to Release 1.0.0, and it looks like all man-made structures in the nether were completely erased.

It's the same cave structure as before, though. Also, there are auto-generated nether fortresses in places where none were before.

@Nodderly: I'd be interested in joining in, it's always good to have another server to play on.
