It's safe to say M16 / Famas with Stopping Power and Red Dot / Holo is the best primary weapon and second perk for the bulk of a team to use.
How does everyone feel about this? The best weapons in most games get a lot of hate. I'm kinda of surprised that people don't complain about them more often.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Game » consists of 22 releases. Released Nov 10, 2009
The sequel to 2007’s wildly successful first-person-shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues the story of American and British soldiers fighting Russian ultra-nationalist forces.
M 16/Famas overpowered.
I dunno, I often switch between the M16 and the ACR. Still undecided as to which is "better," I think it's really map dependent.
I wouldn't say that any weapon is truly "overpowered," although I DO think that having stopping power without juggernaut, its counter-balance, is a bit dumb, since everyone ends up choosing it and don't try any of the other, more interesting perks
However i do occasionally break out the M16 from time to time to reign death. Silence it and your set.
" I cannot believe this, no one else uses the FAL? Do not underestimate the power of the FAL! "I dig the FAL, I also dig it's reload animations (best one in the game) but since it's single shot you have no chance unless your far away with it.
I use the FAMAS with ACOG (because it's alot better than Holo/Red dot) and I use the Stopping power perk, Hardline perk and the steady aim (I need something more useful then steady aim so I'ma play some more).
" @TheMustacheHero: I haven't had that problem with it. Maybe I just have fast fingers? "Maybe.
Anyways, it feels like those two guns do kill me quickly. I don't know, I need to play the game a bit more and experience a bit more death before I can really comment on it. My clan officers just instantaneously bitch about those two guns due to its burst fire nature. For me I prefer using automatics; though I should give the FAL a go.
" @jukezypoo: I don't know, I find myself not using stopping power as often now that there's a bit more useful perks other than stopping power. Only class I have stopping power slapped on is my sniper rifle for easier one hit kills. Anyways, it feels like those two guns do kill me quickly. But given how effective the M16, FAMAS, and RPD become with stopping-power, its no surprise that those that need a little more damage use it
I'm just going to point out that this game must be balanced pretty well if we get tons of people in here each claiming that their loadout is OP...
" @nanikore said:play hardcore. fal is amazing there :d" I cannot believe this, no one else uses the FAL? Do not underestimate the power of the FAL! "I dig the FAL, I also dig it's reload animations (best one in the game) but since it's single shot you have no chance unless your far away with it. "
" Actually, the best equipment to use in the game is Akimbo Model 1887's. "Yeah I'm seeing that, scrubs running around with akimbo shottys
While I haven't tried either of those weapons(I'm close to finishing out the SCAR-H), I have heard from a lot of people that the M16 in this game isn't as good all-around as it was in Call of Duty 4.
FAMAS I've not heard a lot of complaining about, but M16 is just as good as it was in COD4. Personally, I think it's a TAD too good, but it is burst-fire so at the very least, it's a little less useful in close-quarters.
I'm currently rocking to P90 Akimbo.
I just run around deleting dudes. However, I find if you point any gun at an enemy and hold the trigger down long enough, they die.
No parking on the dancefloor. Step aside...
idk, I think those guns suck at least when I use them. It all depends on skill level, I for example can't focus enough to deal with the burst fire on an m16 so I just use a scar
All of the guns have their strengths and weaknesses, and a majority of the time those respective traits aren't reflected in the guns' stats.
All the assault rifles are pretty solid in some way or another. On Hardcore, the FAL and FAMAS and M16 are simply brutal.
The M16 and Famas have less recoil and more killing power than all of the other guns in the game, and it's easy to make one-burst kills happen up close. All of the other weapons are more or less balanced around each other (although I personally think that the M4 and ACR are the best of the rest), but they still don't touch the burst kings.
It might not be clear how OP the burst fire guns are in pubs, but in organized matches it's obvious. You still want to have some team members with other builds, and everyone should have backup builds for special situations, but in general, the more burst, the better.
