One of the goriest fighting game franchises returns to its roots, introducing a new story that re-tells the events of the first three Mortal Kombat games (with a unique twist).
There are already a lot of good MST3K-style video game shows on the 'net nowadays, like Giant Bomb's Quick Looks here, or Game Informer's Replay, or Quarterbin's Continue?. While I like the production here - it actually looks like a tv show, albeit a cheesy, saturday afternoon-style, low budget one (like MST3K) - this guy seems really quite insane. And unentertaining. This is just bizarre.
If Machinima was gonna drop cash for a host, I'd rather see....a whoooole lot of other people, actually. Both people from the game industry, and nerd-friendly celebrities and comedians. Why not give Weird Al a show looking at video games? Or Paul F. Tompkins?
EDIT: Oh! The Room! I thought I never heard of it, but I've SEEN it. It shows up randomly on Adult Swim when they want to provide extra sh*tty programming, beyond the standard sh*t like Squidbillies and Tim & Eric. Yeah, this guy is talentless....although I suppose it takes some skill to actually get it made. Or some friends in art school who are in the video production major. Either or.
