    2010 World Cup

Anelka found himself in the middle of a scandal during the 2010 South African World Cup. During the match Mexico-France, France was losing 2-0. In the locker room, when Domenech (France's coach at the time) came up to Anelka, the two men got into a fight. The day after that, it was revealed to the press that he'd insulted the coach and had refused to excuse himself (he had told the coach "Vas te faire enculer sale fils de pute"). Because of these insults, he was sent home.

The players didn't like the fact that Anelka was excluded, deciding to go on strike and not practice in front of 400 hundred kids.
