Just a thought. We could organize some sort of tournament if enough people are interested.

Who would be interested in a Giant Bomb Pokemon Tournament?
I see you would like to organize a series of games to prove who is the best Pokemon trainer on this side of the internet. Why bother?. With Mr. Zapp Brannigan on these forums, none of you weak minded and narrow shouldered pencil necks have a chance against my Pokemon. But if you would like me to show you how to Poke-battle with some chest-hair. The Zapper will more than oblige.
" @scarace360: If we can get a decent turnout we would have to come up with something. I've never done this sort of thing before so unless there is an existing set of guidelines, we're on our own. "
There are already a standard set of rules for competitive Pokémon tournaments which could be used.
Anyway, I'd enter.
Sure Id be willing. But like others have said, youll have to give it a few days for us europeans to buy the game.
I'd get utterly destroyed, and I think there'd have to be a large amount of rules in place concerning certain Pokemon and/or proper levels, but I'd definitely be interested.
Fuck yes. My Chickorita, Travis Killfuck, will eat up all of your pokemon and spit them out like garbage. >:}
I'll join in on the festivities. However, I'm still clueless as to how anyone can ever meet up with someone online in this game. There's no way to see when people are playing or anything.
@Yukoei: True. We could set a date for sometime in the future so that it is fair for everyone.
Question to anyone interested: How many people should we try to amass for a tournament?
Here are the rules, gents:
1) 50 all tournament (meaning all Pokémon would be set back to lvl 50)
2) Doubles, 4 Pokemon selected
3) Can't use two of the same Pokémon
4) No Pokémon that you wouldn't be allowed in the Battle Tower with (eg, Ho-Oh, Groudon, that mess)
5) Can't use two of the same item
6) No Action Replayed Pokémon. Honor system, I suppose, since we can't really tell without an egg check. Having a team full of shinies would give it away, though.
I would join in (Just for fun that is), i'm not a competative battler... so i'm sure i'd lose... someone would have to tell me the rules.
I'll do it but we should give people time. The game just launched and I don't know about anyone else but this is the first pokemon game I have played in 8 years. Whoever is still playing in say 2 weeks should participate in the tournament so that we noobs to the new rule set can adjust and stand a chance to everyone else who is importing legendaries.

Alright, sounds fair except does it really have to be doubles, and I can't stand people who use legendaries so i'm more then happy with the battle tower rules.
legendaries were already not allowed, all pokemon levels will be set to 50. I'm fine with doubles but i'll go with the popular opinion
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelll yes.
Except all my pokemans are still only at like level 30-ish :| Knowing my luck I'd be put against the guy with the level 100 Charizard...
Edit: And then, I read the thread. Dur.
Question: What qualifies as 'legendary'? Does this include all special event Pokemon, like the red Gyrados (or even the spiky-eared Pichu?) or just the usual big guys?
"I think the usual "big guys". I want to join in on this but I know I'm gonna get crushed just like that time when I was in a pokemon tourney at the mall... Don't ask, it was pathetic.
